The university actively engages in educational outreach for sustainable land management. Programs are offered to local communities to spread knowledge on maintaining agricultural land sustainably.
Educational Outreach on Sustainable Land and Agricultural Practices
Amity University Haryana actively promotes sustainable land management and eco-friendly agricultural practices through its Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action (CESCA) and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiatives.
In 2023–2024, the University organized multiple community outreach and training sessions on organic farming, vermicomposting, and soil fertility enhancement for local farmers and rural youth from its five adopted villages under UBA (located in Pataudi and Farrukhnagar blocks, Gurugram district).
A dedicated Vermicomposting Unit was established on campus to demonstrate waste-to-compost conversion techniques and soil rejuvenation methods using bio-organic manure. Faculty members and students conducted hands-on workshops showcasing the process of composting agricultural waste and improving soil structure through sustainable, non-chemical practices.
These programmes aim to build farmer awareness about sustainable agriculture, land conservation, and nutrient recycling, ensuring ecological balance and long-term soil productivity. Through these initiatives, AUH strengthens its role as a community educator and sustainability leader in the region.
