• Obtained Ph.D. Degree In Physics For The Thesis Entitled “Study Of Upper Atmospheric Winds And Radio Meteors Using Meteor Radar Technique”, Which Is First Of Its Kind In East Asia. Served The Indian Institute Of Tropical Meteorology (Iitm), Pune, India, At Various Capacities, From December 1980 To February 2014. During This Tenure, Developed A Spectrum Of Laser Radar (Lidar) Systems And Radiometers For Probing The Atmosphere And Oceans. Organized Several Bilateral (Indo-Us, Indo-Ussr, Indo-Bulgaria, Indoex, Lite, Calipso, Megha-Tropics, Stratoclim Etc.) And National (Isro-Gbp, Bobmex, Armex, Ctcz, Crem, Irs-P3, P4, P4, P6, Oceansat, Caipeex, Nasa-Aeronet, Maia-Amod Etc.) Collaborative Research Projects.

• Joined Amity University Haryana (Auh), Gurugram In March 2014 And Implemented A New Initiative Of Amity Centre For Ocean-Atmospheric Science And Technology (Amity Coast) And Established An Advanced Climate Research Laboratory (Crl). In October 2015, Another New Initiative Of Amity Centre For Environmental Science And Health (Acesh) With A Focus On Investigating Pollution Effects On Human Health Has Been Established. For This Purpose, A State-Of-The-Art Air Quality Monitoring Station (Aqms) Has Been Installed In Collaboration With Iitm, Pune. This Versatile System Yields 24x7 High-Resolution Synchronous Data Composed Of 22 Parameters (Pm1, Pm2.5, Pm10, Co, Co2, Nox, No2, No, Nh3, So2, O3, Vocs, And Meteorological Parameters). The Collocated Complimentary Techniques Such As Nasa-Aeronet Sun-Sky-Lunar-Polarimetric-Multispectral Radiometer, Polar Nephelometer, And Next-Generation Aethalometer Have Been Established In 2017 For Regional Air Quality, Health And Aerosol-Cloud-Climate Interaction, Global Warming And Climate Sustainability Studies And Modeling. In 2022, Nasa-Jpl’s Maia-Amod Facility Has Been Established In Collaboration With Emory University, Usa And Iit-D For Cal-Val Of Maia Satellite And Mapping Of Pm2.5 Mass Concentration And Its Effects On Human Health.

• Received Several Awards/Honors Including The Young Scientist Award (1980); J. Das Gupta Award (1999); Bharat Jyoti Award (2010); Best Citizens Of India Award (2011); 6th (1993); 7th (1994) And 25th (2012) Silver Jubilee Awards And 1st Golden Jubilee Award (2012) Of Iitm, Pune; Eminent Scientist Award (January 2020), Lifetime Achievement Award (December 2021) And Best Research Award (February 2021), Asia’s Top-50 Scientist Award (November 2022), Kalam Research Award (May 2023), World Class Scientist Award (2024) And Award For Excellence In Research (2024) For Original Research Contributions In The Field Of Active And Passive Remote Sensing Of The Atmosphere, Oceans, Environmental Pollution And Human Health.
