Amity Law Review (ALR) encourages scholarly works from different branches of law. Its sole aim is to promote accessibility to legal scholarship and discourse. It is purely a legal journal that welcomes contributions for its volumes from India and abroad. It focuses on the interfacing areas between law and other social sciences, on existing and emerging international perspectives which incorporate jurisprudential analysis of the concepts and undertake a comparative study of different legal systems. Hence, it allows researchers from other subjects, also, to contribute at the meeting point of law with other social sciences. There is no limitation on the choice of topic. Authors are free to look at any other field(s) of study for guidance in developing a scholarly critique of the past/current legal landscape. The Journal contemplates its focus on research in the following elobrations.

The foundation of the research paper is:

  •        Original and logical thinking
  •        Existing and new legal studies and development
  •        Law and legal research
  •        Examination of case law

In integration of its focus, the journal believes in the duty to retain the integrity of scientific record and places, due emphasis in upholding ingenuity in ideas and propositions. Through the medium of novel scholastic works, the ALR adheres to highlight key contemporary issues in all areas of law including  but not limited to, civil, criminal, corporate, arbitration and intellectual property and enables critical evaluation of different legal concepts. Thus, enabling the legal fraternity to gain insights into the existing academic discourse and contribute to the advancement and practice of the legal profession.

The research focus of the ALR is not limited to exploring and explaining different areas of law, but providing an opportunity to academicians, legal professionals, judges and legal researchers  to advance methods for improving the existing legal system. Through its open-ended theme, the journal seeks to promote and disseminate interdisciplinary academic research on the diverse areas of law and discuss its wide-reaching implications on society. The research areas chosen by the contributors can also be rooted in discussing existing policy challenges that have wide ramifications on the socio-economic conditions of the people. The manuscripts submitted to the ALR must enable a productive dialogue amongst the readers in relation to the topical legal issues covered, while aiming to explore the challenges faced in their conceptualization and consequent realization. Thus, adding value to the scholarship surrounding the existing legal discourse.

The journal also integrates itself with the manuscripts which engages in the process of social auditing of law that helps identify gaps, if any, between the legal ideals and the social reality on the implementation of law. The usage of statistical tools, surveys, interviews, and other methods of data collection in the submitted manuscripts is advocated by the ALR, while placing emphasis on due recognition of primary and secondary sources of information relied upon by the contributors.

The past volumes of ALR bearing different mark research focus have witnessed, for instance, pedagogies revolving around climate change and the nature of water as a property, patenting of green technology, child rights, rights of the disabled, free speech and the right to protest etc.
