Singapore AIMUN

Keeping in sync with the vision of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, of nurturing global leaders, AIMUN Singapore was organized by Amity Educational Resource Centre, from July 24-28, 2018.

AIMUN, a simulation of the UN, is now in its tenth year. This is the second time that AIMUN was organised on Amity’s offshore campus; the first being AIMUN Dubai, which was held in 2017.

The event gives students the opportunity to take on the role of delegates of various countries, discuss global issues and present their views on the same. AIMUN Singapore, hosted by Amity Global Institute, Singapore saw participation of 67 students and faculty in charges from 10 different schools of India and 2 schools from Philippines. Committees like United Nations Security Council and European Union were formed to discuss agendas like: security situation in Korean Peninsula and refugee crisis in EU respectively.

AIMUN Singapore was meticulously integrated with a career discovery programme, wherein the participants visiting Singapore were taken on an educational tour to some of the best educational institutions in the city – Yale-NUS, NTU and INSEAD. In addition, the students also partook in informative and exciting workshops . The students were also taken for sightseeing to acquaint them with the culture of the city.
