Kavya Aggarwal of Class XII has been accepted by the Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA to participate in
the 2 week Yale Young Global Scholar's Programme in Math & Science. Kavya along with other international students
will examine scientific disciplines such as Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Astronomy and Mathematics. She will also
get opportunity to work in Capstone project groups to identify problems in a specific topic, conduct rigorous background
research and propose solutions to those problems to their peers and instructors.

intensive hands-on high school Summer Program at Notre Dame University, USA. During the programme, the students will have
exclusive access to high tech computers and science laboratories at the university under the Notre Dame Summer School Program
in USA. She has been selected on complete scholarship which includes boarding, enrollment and tuition fees.

Asia Pacific Conference for Young Scientists

The school bagged 1 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze at the Asia Pacific Conference for Young Scientists (APCYS 2016). The 5th
edition of the conference organized from July 14-16, 2016 for students from Class VI to XII was hosted in India for the
first time at Amity University Manesar campus. The conference saw some of the best minds and scientific talents from more
than 20 countries across the Asia and Pacific showcase research by students in the area of Physics, Mathematics, Computer
Science, Environmental Science and Life Science. Out 40 projects presented from India, 24 projects belonged to Amity Group
of Schools. The project, "Magnetic Novel & Cost Effective method to treat waste water of textile industries, Magnetic
Nano- composite in Action" taken up by Sarthak Sharma & Kavya Aggarwal (Class 11) won the special Dipika Memorial
Award of USD 100 $), for Most Socially Viable project.

students should be provided platforms to showcase their scientific temperament. Keeping this in mind, two teams, each comprising two students from AIS
Vas 6, participated in the 8th edition of International Environment and Sustainability Project Olympiad (INESPO)* in Netherlands from May 29 to June 3,
2016. The teams bagged the Global Science Award at this prestigious international competition, competing with 150 best projects from 49 countries around
the world.

industries' (Magnetic nanocomposite in action to remove dyes) and won a gold medal while the second team comprising Vasavi Sridhar and Aakriti Dhasmana
won bronze medal for their project 'Storable fuel from agricultural waste and fuel maker for rural India'.
Under-9 Chess Champions 2016

11 students from Class II – V participated in UP State Under-9 Chess Championship 2016 held at Parivartan School, Ghaziabad from August 12-14, 2016. 18 teams comprising 68 students from various schools participated in the tournament which was conducted by Ghaziabad District Chess Association on behalf of UP Chess Sports Association. AIS Vasundhara 6 bagged the School Trophy in U-9 category while three players of the school were listed in the top 10 category.

Creepy crawly week
Date: July 11-15, 2016
A ‘Creepy Crawly week’ was organized for Class Nursery and KG. Various activities were planned around the theme such as colouring worksheets, clay modeling, foot and hand printing, paper craft, free hand drawing, PPT’s etc. The tiny tots turned into future entomologists with a fun bug hunt activity and shared their experiences. The week culminated with a ramp walk wherein children dressed up in their favourite insect outfit. The youngsters were overjoyed to share their experiences with Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF, who visited the school on the occasion.

International Expo Science Fair 2016
Four students of the school participated in the Expo Science Fair in Toulouse, France from July 9-15, 2016, which saw students from 34 countries showcase a total of 119 innovative projects. Accompanied by their mentor teacher, Anshu Khanna, students Samica Vashisht and Ansh Aggarwal presented a unique dustbin for the smart generation while Ishit Batra and Yash Pasrija competed with their idea on Double Blitz Chess, winning much acclaim and appreciation. They also got the unique opportunity to interact with Jean Claude, President, International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology.

Suhani Sharma (Class V A) won the second prize in a poem writing competition organised by British Council at the High Commission. She received a certificate and books from the British Council as a token of appreciation. Her acrostic poem on the Bard of Avon (William Shakespeare), won her the award. On the occasion, Suhani also played the role of Cordelia, a character from Shakespeare’s play ‘King Lear’, delivering her dialogues confidently.

First Aid Workshop
Date: July 8, 2016
To equip students and train them in first aid for medical emergencies, a first aid workshop and training module was organised for Class IX on July 8, 2016. The training session included the principles of first aid, common injuries, roles and responsibilities of the first responder, importance of time, identifying symptoms, common injuries, CPR skill demo, checking the pulse of an unconscious person and recovery position, etc.

Guest of honour Er Anuj Sinha, Former Director, Department of Science & Technology, motivated the children to think beyond the ordinary and develop a creative, innovative and scientific bent of mind.

CBSE MERIT
The CBSE Board awards Merit Certificates in each subject to the top 0.1 % of candidates passing that subject, provided that they have passed the examination as per the pass criteria of the Board. Animal Action Week2009 - Atmaja Chowdhury of class VIII splendidly portrayed the plight of endangered Royal Bengal Tigers and effectively enhanced awareness among the people. Her painting was adjudged as selective best and also painted in the form of Greeting card by the organization. Furthermore, she has been selected for participating at a national level contest on analogous topic.
