Shri JC Kala IFS(Retd) (Honorary
Adviser)

Sri.JC Kala, is the Former Director General of Forest, Government of India with over four decades of experience in Forestry, wild life and natural resources management both in federal and State Government Tamil Nadu. He spearheaded the World's largest people’s movement in forestry in the country popularly known as Joint forest management, overviewed and guided functioning of premier organizations viz., Indian council of forestry research and education, Wild life Institute of India, Forest Survey of India and Indian Institute of Forest Management as their Chairman . He also held corporate positions as Chairman of Rubber Corporation and Chairman of Tea Corporation in Tamil Nadu. He represented India in several International conventions including UNFCCC.

Prof. (Dr.) Indrani Chandrasekharan, Prof. & Director, AIGWES

Dr. Indrani Chandrasekharan was formerly the Advisor (Environment and Forests), Planning Commission and Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India. She has undertaken multifaceted responsibilities and contributed to policy formulation, drafting of legislations and implementation of pollution abatement measures in industries. A specialist in waste and chemicals regulation and management has published over 78 research papers and a number of reports.

She has served as negotiator for India and as member of committees of International Convention on waste, chemicals, biodiversity, climate change and ozone depleting substances. As member of expert committee/groups of Government of India drafted and enabled finalization of reports of the Task Force on Waste to Energy (WTE), High level working group on Western Ghats and Experts Group on low carbon strategy during the last three years.

Prof. BKP Sinha, IFS (Retd), Adviser & Head ASNRSD

Prof. B.K.P. Sinha was an Indian ForestServices Officer of 1968 batch. He is an acknowledged professional in the field of forestry and natural resource management. He has a distinguished career and has served as Principal Chief Conserver/MD, UP Forest Cooperation, Project Director, World Bank Forestry Project and as special secretary to the government of UP. He has lately been National Coordinator for Task Force on inter-linking of rivers. He has also served for several UNDP/FAO projects. He has many scientific publications to his credit. He is a well-known forester in India with Master’s Degree in Forestry (Economics) from University College of North Wales, Bangor, (U.K.).

Mr. Vineet K. Shrivastava, Assistant Professor, AIGWES

He holds Masters in Tropical Forestry and Management from Technical University Dresden, Germany and Master in Agricultural Development from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides he holds a Master in Wood Science and Technology from Forest Research Institute Dehradun. His specialization is in Socio-Economics of forestry, Forest Products Trade, and Wood Science. He has five year of industry, research, and teaching experience. His research interests include forest policy research, timber and NTFPs trade analysis, supply chain management, wood products testing and forest certification, valuation of ecosystem services, PES, climate change and carbon trade, REDD+, rural livelihood, agricultural development.

Dr. Vartika Singh, Assistant Professor, AIGWES

She holds Ph.D. degree in Hydrogeology and Remote Sensing, M.Phil. degree in Hydrogeology from Vikram University and Master degree in App. Geology from Kurukshtera University. She has GATE Qualified all India rank 47. She has 5 years of research experience with Defence Terrain Research Laboratory, DRDO, Delhi. Where she is associated in various important projects of Defence Research & Development Organization, DTRL lab like GIM, Thar and PISTA. Her specialization of research is in Hydrogeology, Remote Sensing, Environmental Geology & Artificial Intelligence. She has more than 10 publications in various national, international journals. She is in Editorial Board of several national and international journals.

Dr. Upamanyu Hore, Assistant Professor, ASNRSD

A Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Wildlife Institute of India, a national institute of worldwide reputation. He has 5 years of research experience in Wildlife and Forestry. His areas of research interests and teaching expertise are in wildlife survey, conservation biology, landscape ecology, restoration ecology and biostatistics. He has extensive experience in developing computer simulation models of populations and ecosystem processes. He has more than 10 publications in various national, international journals and in books. One of his publications has been awarded Chutervedi Prize for best research paper in Wildlife.

Ms. Maya Kumari, Assistant Professor, ASNRSD

She holds M. Tech. degree in Remote Sensing and GIS technology from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi and Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She has done several research projects related to geospatial mapping of land degradation in Ranchi with Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. Her specialization is in the theory and practice of remote sensing and geographic information systems.

Ms. Richa Sharma, Research-cum-Teaching Assistant, ASNRSD

She holds Master of Science in Natural Resources Management from TERI University. She has been working on the Clean Development Mechanism while working with Sindicatum Sustainable Resources, India. She had also been involved in an UNDP-GEF project for evaluation of carbon reductions resulting from the various green initiatives implemented for the Commonwealth Games 2010.
