CLUB ACTIVITIES

‘All Work and No Play makes Jack a dull boy' is a well-known saying and true to the objective of imparting holistic education, AIESR has five Clubs-Debate, Drama, Creative Writing, Poetry and Entrepreneurship Club, which students join depending on their interest. These Clubs organize activities regularly and provide the much-needed platform for relaxation and healthy competition,

Apart from these activities, many national days and festivals are also observed and celebrated with gusto


INVICTUS- The Debate Club

INVICTUS, The Debate Society, envisions itself as a prestigious student club founded for the purpose of binding together young people who share a common love for the art of debating, reasoning and an adamant passion for public speaking.

The foundation stones for this dynamic debate society were laid in September 2017. Debate on interesting topics have been organized in this club and have collaborated with different departments and organizations. Whether it’s a Speech Contest or a well coded debate like Parliamentary, Invictus has achieved its height victoriously and promises to continue forward. Not only topics like “Universal Income scheme” have been discussed but also fun activities like “Moviethon” have been organized by the society.

Every Thursday a Committee meeting is conducted which is addressed by the President of the club and in-house discussions are done about upcoming club activities and world issues such as Environment and how can our society help in making this world a better place. Everyone’s opinion is counted and all the people are given equal opportunities to represent their best talents. Invictus also organizes a debating event every year in Amity Youth Festival, which provides a lot of exposure to students and enables interaction with other colleges.

TA’BIR- The Dramatics Club

TA’BIR the dramatics society of AIESR. The club performs a minimum of one production at the end of every semester. It has successfully performed Girish Karnad’s Hayavadana,and Yayati, Vijay Tendulakar’s Ghasiram Kotwal, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. Shakespeare’s A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream and also adapted and produced folk lore’s from across the country, River Stories. Ta’bir organized - Theatre of Multitudes, which is theatre of quarantine during the lockdown period the club invites multifaceted talent ranging from acting, music, dancing, crafting to those who play musical instruments have knowledge of digitising sound and loved photography. Each production Ta’bir is made possible by overwhelming student participation over a sustained period of time.

ELYNOIA- The Creative Writing Club

ELYNOIA-inspired by 'elysian' and 'eunoia' is the Creative Writing Club of AIESR. It is a platform which encourages students to pour out their thoughts in a creative and imaginative way. The club activities conducted each semester inspire students to enunciate their originality and opine about multifarious issues which form the rich fabric of the society. The Club blog is a lavish tapestry of the vibrancy and enthusiastic ideas of the youth who epitomize the future. The club nurtures talent and helps students to manifest their novel ideas through varied genres.

PARNASSUS- The Poetry Club

Poetry is like dew drop on the petal of heart, which always carries deep sensitivity, displays warm human emotions. It holds a unique beauty in forming rhythm and at times, influences with free verse. Parnassus – the Poetry Club of AIESR encourages young minds to come up with poetic expression on varied topics like nature, beauty, social issues, psychological strength & weaknesses and mush more, from spiritual to material world. The Club organizes different inter /intra events and competitions every semester.

BLAZE- Entrepreneurship Club

*BLAZE* is the entrepreneurship club of the department of AIESR. We are a team with the rudimentary objective of developing entrepreneurial mindsets amongst the youth. The essence of this club rests solely on bringing leadership and zeal to entrepreneurs. We do not promote any business — rather, we help you in crafting your creative skills and shaping your budding, nascent ideas into life changing opportunities. If you have any creative talents, we help you groom them by linking you up with industry experts.

We started as a group of twenty and are now about fifty members. We have achieved the statis of a renowned club across the university in just one year's time and plan to keep on doing the same. So, forgo your inhibitions and join our crusade. We look forward to seeing you!

On the occasion of 151 birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (Gandhi Jayanti), Amity Insititute of English Studies and Research (AIESR) organsied a poster making competition. The participants shared and spoke about their poster. The competition was judged by Dr. Aparna Sharma. The first and second position holders are Hifza Tariq (Enrollement No. A0706119179, Semester 3, Section C) and Akansha Jha (Enrollement No. A0706118023, Semester 5, Section B) respectively. Swacchata Pakhwara- 2020

16-31 January, 2020
16.01.2020- AIESR began the celebration of the Swacchata Pakhwara by taking the Swacchata pledge. The faculty members and the students of the department solemnly pledged that they would neither litter nor let others litter.
20.01.2020- The department organized a poster-making and slogan-writing competition in which the students participated, actively. They covered various issues like pollution, water scarcity and cleanliness in their poster and slogan. The competition was judged by Dr. Aparna Sharma and Dr. Sambuddha Jash. Gandhi Jayanti

A poster making competition was organized to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Constitution Day

Amity Institute of English Studies and Research (AIESR) organized a pledge-taking ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of adoption of Constitution of India on 26.11.2019 at 05:00 p.m. The head of the institute read the preamble to the Constitution which was duly repeated by the faculty members.

National Unity Day

Amity Institute of English Studies and Research (AIESR) organized special activities to observe the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) on 31.10.2019. All the faculty members who were present in the department participated in the pledge taking ceremony. The ceremony was followed by an interesting activity in which participating teams of two members each were asked to eat without folding their elbows. Hence, they fed each other signifying the spirit of unity. Then a three-leged race, “Run for Unity” was organized in which five teams participated, enthusiastically.
