“Wealth cannot be earned but created “People lose money in investments because of lack of financial literacy and the understanding of the investment alternatives and the concept of trade cycle. Lack of retirement planning also leads to financial hardship in older age. The women at home also need to understand the nature of investments and they should be able to take care of the family in case of any miss happening with their spouse. All the sections of society need financial literacy in order to protect their financial freedom and financial wisdom. The chit funds and Ponzi schemes are able to befool the general masses as their target hit group is financially illiterate. People normally invest money without understanding the financial markets and therefore lose money. Money is earned by strong hands and weak hands normally lose money.
Learning Objectives:An overview of the financial markets, security market, money market, capital market, forex market, derivatives market, fundamental and technical analysis tools, mutual funds and debt instruments shall be at the core of the sessions.
PedagogyThere will be in all 8 sessions of 90 minute each starting at 10 AM and ending at 5PM. Tea/lunch and evening tea will be provide to the participants. 5 Sessions will be in teaching mode, 2 sessions for technical understanding of the subject-participants will be taken to computer lab, and one session will be for open question and answer.

With globalization, commerce and trade were exposed to commodity price risk and volatility and badly needed authentic, transparent and regulated financial tools. Responding to the changed scenario, to meet the requirement of the whole supply chain, Govt. of India allowed establishing multi commodity exchanges in India in 2002.
In the commodity supply chain, various stakeholders like commodity producers, farmers, traders, processors, importers/exporters, industrial users and investors are exposed to price risk and need tools to manage their risk. Commodity exchanges provide this tool to them. Commodity exchanges provide not only current prices but also the price for future dates and thus play important functions of “Price discovery” and “Price Risk Management” to benefit various stakeholders. Equally, commodities have emerged as a new “Asset” class for investors in the financial markets. Further, the recent introduction of options trading and participation of institutional investors in the commodity derivatives market by SEBI opens up huge new opportunities for Commodity Exchange participants.
The MDP is an ideal programme for those interested in investing or pursuing a career in the commodity derivatives market. The programme course will covers the entire gamut of commodity derivatives market required for providing enough domain knowledge and professional expertise to start operating in commodity markets.
