Amity Education group deeply acknowledges the dedication and hard work of our Defence Forces towards serving the Nation. Hon’ble Founder President believes in maintaining a close symbiotic relationship with the Armed Forces so that Amity can contribute towards Nation building by serving the Defence sector.
We are the only private university running ‘Amity Indian Military College’ (AIMC). More than 350 candidates from AIMC have been selected for the Army, Navy and Airforce, conforming to our ideals of nation building. The Amity Indian Military College for Women (AIMCW) has been established with the primary aim of motivating young girls to take up a challenging career in the Armed Forces. Amity has also conducted courses for serving and retired officers from the Armed Forces, inducted young generation students after an intensive ‘de novo’ training programme into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other premier tri-service training institutions. A large number of distinguished service officers have also been employed in various positions at Amity post their service period.
Amity Institute of Defence & Strategic Studies (AIDSS) has been established with a vision to provide a platform for nurturing intellectual leaders towards a more enlightened society and a progressive nation through Education and Research in the field of Defence and Strategic areas. The primary aim of the Institute is to provide conceptual, intellectual and strategic considerations which are necessary for formulation of national policies in the changing global, regional and national environment leading towards better governance and statecraft. The Institute with its multidisciplinary syllabus has attracted students to undertake M.A. in Defence & Strategic Studies. In addition, Ph.D. Programme in Defence & Strategy related subjects has also commenced, attracting many serving as well as retired defence officers towards undertaking research in this domain.
AIDSS has also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Service Institution (USI) of India, National Maritime Foundation (NMF), Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) and Society for Aerospace, Maritime and Defence Studies (SAMDeS) for academic as well as research collaboration. The Institute has also published Amity Journal of Defence & Strategic Studies (AJDSS) as an endeavour to publish articles with strategic discernment of critical issues, affecting the peace equilibrium and stability in the region and the world at large. AIDSS also conducts National Level strategic seminars for enhancing awareness amongst the student fraternity and creating a revolution for ‘strategic and critical thinking’, to nurture minds and develop their thought process as future leaders of tomorrow.
