Amity University Gurgaon, treading the path of Internationalization welcomed Ms. Christina Gunther, Interim Executive Director, Office of Global Affairs & English Language Institute, Sacred Heart University, USA on 18th May 2017, to explore opportunities for developing linkages in areas of mutual interest and working towards providing international opportunities to the students and faculty members.
Ms. Christina Gunther was felicitated with a floral welcome and presentation of Amity Memento by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma, Dy. Vice Chancellor, Maj. Gen. B.S. Suhag and Vice President - RBEF, Director-International Affairs Dr. Gunjan M. Sanjeev. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor welcomed the guest and briefed her about Amity University Gurgaon. The Directors and HoDs were also present at the meeting and shared their research strengths and on-going projects, through which Sacred Heart University may want to join hands with Amity.
Ms. Christina also presented a brief about Sacred Heart University (SHU) to the audience and shared key inputs on how the Sacred Heart University can connect with Amity University Gurgaon. She presented a brief about Collaborative Online International Learning that SHU is undertaking and discussed how Amity can contribute into the program. She presented some very fine examples of successful projects completed under COIL and invited ideas on how Amity and SHU can collaborate on the same platform. Ms. Christina expressed interest in areas of Nursing and Business and also showed interest in exploring Behavioural and allied sciences for programs under COIL.
Ms. Christina also had dedicated sessions with Heads from Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences – Prof. (Dr) Archana Shukla and Amity School of Languages – Prof. Ashok Tikku and their respective teams of faculty members, to discuss and develop on the idea of using COIL for joint programs in areas of Psychology and foreign languages.
Session got concluded with thanks note of Prof. (Dr) Gunjan M. Sanjeev and thanks given appreciation message by Ms. Christina for welcoming her to Amity University gurgaon to learn more about the institution and the group and explore possibilities of collaboration.
