Visiting Ranchi

Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand in India, is also known as the Land of Forests. Located in the southern part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau and richly endowed with natural beauty, the city is named after a local bird Rinchi, mostly found in and around a Hill Temple. The city is often referred to as the City of Waterfalls and Lakes owing to the abundance of waterfalls that are situated nearby. It has a pleasant climate throughout the year.

  • Jagannath Temple: An important pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Jagannath, with architecture and religious significance.
  • Hundru Falls: A stunning waterfall located about 45 km from Ranchi, known for its scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings.
  • Rani Chhinnamasta Temple: A significant temple dedicated to the goddess Chhinnamasta, situated on the banks of the Kanchi River.
  • Pahari Mandir: A temple situated on a hill offering a serene environment and a great view of the city.
  • Sun Temple: Located at the outskirts of Ranchi, this temple is dedicated to the Sun God and is known for its unique architecture and serene ambiance.
  • Tagore Hill: This is a peaceful spot for relaxation and offers a good view of the city.
  • Birsa Zoological Park: A well-maintained zoo featuring a variety of wildlife and lush greenery, ideal for family outings.
  • Kanke Dam: A picturesque spot for picnics and boating, located near Ranchi and surrounded by natural beauty.
  • Muta Temple: An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its historical and architectural significance.
