Centre for Gender studies

Our Center for Gender Studies is deeply committed to advancing gender equality and fostering inclusive growth. This commitment is informed by the UNDP’s Gender Inequality Index (GII), which evaluates disparities in reproductive health, empowerment, and economic status across genders. Specifically, the GII considers variables such as maternal mortality rates, adolescent birth rates, parliamentary representation by females, educational attainment, and labour force participation rates.

Recognizing gender equality as both a moral imperative and a critical economic factor, the Center addresses the significant implications of gender inequality on economic growth. Inequality in economic participation limits the talent pool within the labour market, leading to inefficient resource allocation and reduced GDP growth. Conversely, promoting gender equality and empowering women catalyzes higher efficiency and productivity, which are essential for robust economic development and improved societal outcomes.

The Center of Excellence for Gender Studies is dedicated to contributing to gender equality for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Centre of Excellence for Tribal Studies

Located in a region where approximately 31% of the population belongs to Scheduled Tribes, the state of Chhattisgarh faces significant disparities in education, health, sanitation, child rights, and income among its tribal communities. These disparities create a substantial gap between tribal societies and the mainstream population, yet they also present vast opportunities for development that could dramatically enhance the state's overall economic performance.

To address these challenges and harness these opportunities, Amity University Chhattisgarh has established the Centre of Excellence for Tribal Development. The Centre focuses on integrating the tribal population into broader socio-economic frameworks, aiming to uplift the communities through targeted developmental initiatives.
