A high- level Ministerial Delegation from Uzbekistan visits Amity University to explore the potential areas of collaboration

 

A high- level Ministerial Delegation from Uzbekistan visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus, comprising of Mr. Salaev Sanat Kamilovich, Deputy Governor of Khorezm Region, Head of Delegation, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, H.E. MrSardor Rustambaev, Mr. Abdullave Bobur Sagdullaevich, Director of Amity University in Tashkent along with 12 other members from various institutions. The aim of the visiting delegation was to explore the areas of collaborative growth and opportunity through joint partnership. 

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Salaev Sanat Kamilovich, Deputy Governor of Khorezm region, Head of Delegation, said, “India and Uzbekistan, while geographically distant, share several historical, cultural, and economic ties. Khorezm is the IT hub of Uzbekistan and today there are more than 220 HEIs in Uzbekistan, most of them being private institutions. There are currently more than 600 students in the medical stream, in Khorezm and a huge number of students in the field of information technology. Khorezm has many IT Parks and the IT landscape can be expanded further through this partnership since there is a huge scope and unlimited opportunities in this field.”

 

Sharing his views on the occasion, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, H.E. MrSardor Rustambaev, averred, “Uzbekistan and India share a long history of friendship and common culture. India has a rich history and culture, and Indians are very warm by nature. In addition, Indians are the best teachers and professors in the world and India has been the centre of science and mathematics since ancient times. Through this association, we aim to establish a branch of Amity in Khorezm region, and we are looking forward to fruitful negotiations for this purpose.”

 

Emphasizing upon the significance of the collaboration, Mr. Amol Chauhan, Executive Director (Strategic Operations) Amity Education Group, said, “Uzbekistan is very close to my heart and some of the brilliant mathematicians of the world have been from Uzbekistan. The bilateral relationship between India and Uzbekistan is growing stronger and we wish to further strengthen this relationship by collaborating in areas such as science, economics, management, technology and research. The people of Uzbekistan are extremely hard working and focused, with a special focus on the youth and we wish to embark on a mutually beneficial strategic partnership with Uzbekistan.”

 

Presenting an overview of Amity Education Group, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, opined, “Amity shares a special bond with Uzbekistan and Amity University would like to partner with Uzbekistan in the areas of Joint Degrees, joint Research, Student Exchange, Faculty Exchange and Study Abroad Programmes.”

 

Mr. Abdullave Bobur Sagdullaevich, Director of Amity University Tashkent, added, “Amity University established its campus in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2019 and is one of the best educational institutions in Uzbekistan today. We look forward to work together in the areas of economics, business, tourism, and many other areas, by establishing more centres of Amity in different regions of Uzbekistan.”

 

During the visit, the Delegation took a round of the Amity campus and visited Amity Centre for Artificial Intelligence (ACAI), Central Library, ASCO Studio and the Amity Innovation Incubator.
