Hi, my name is Srishti Singh

Hi, my name is Srishti Singh and I am a graduate from Amity University, Noida with a bachelor’s degree in interior design (BID). I am going to talk about how my journey in Amity began as a student fresh out of school and ended with me graduating as a designer who knew so much more.
Before I get into that I’ll update you with my present whereabouts. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Interior Design and Luxury in Scenography from Paris, France.
When I started my journey at Amity back in 2021, I knew nothing about design as a professional career. All I knew was I wanted to be an interior designer and the four years I studied design in Amity not only helped me become one but also helped me figure out things I didn’t know I needed to know. I learnt that as aesthetically pleasing as design is, it is also functional, practical and comfortable for the users. I understood how it is such a massive part of everyday life. But most importantly it provided me with a strong insight on the design industry, how it functions differently around the world and my life. All of these learnings and experiences during those 4 years have shaped my personality, especially as a designer.
Studying at Amity built the foundation that now supports me as a Master’s student at Ecole de Conde in Paris. The transition from Noida to Paris is not just geographical – it is academical and cultural – but I never felt unprepared. The fundamentals I learned during my bachelor’s degree continue to guide me every day. The elements and principles of design, which once felt theoretical, now shape how I approach spatial narratives and luxury environments. Colour theory informs the moods I construct, the material knowledge I gained over the span of my bachelor’s helps me make conscious, refined and sustainable choices. Understanding ergonomics ensures that even the most conceptual ideas remain grounded in user experience.
The technical tools I learned have allowed me to focus more on concept and storytelling rather than struggling with execution. Most importantly, Amity taught me how to think critically and design with intention.
Today, as I engage with scenography and luxury interiors in Paris, I realize that every advanced exploration is rooted in those strong, essential beginnings.

JAI KHANNA, ALUMNI-BID

I had a wonderful experience during my bachelor’s at Amity School of Design (ASD), Noida. The range of courses—especially those focusing on accessibility, inclusive design, and the semester-long research thesis—truly shaped my career. Even now, as a UX Researcher in Silicon Valley, I often find myself relying on the foundations I built at ASD to tackle complex challenges in big tech. What stood out for me was the level of faculty support. Mentorship also played a huge role when I applied and got accepted into top grad schools for research programs (including Cornell, Brown and NYU), largely thanks to the guidance I received at ASD. On top of all that, ASD is generous with merit-based scholarship. Overall, I’d highly recommend ASD to anyone who’s creative, looking to solve challenging problems, and eager to build a solid design career foundation.

My experience as a student in the first passing batch of Amity University's UX Design Program. Being part of the first graduating batch of this program has been an incredible journey. Over 4 years, I gained hands on experience in user research, interaction design and prototyping, all guided by passionate faculty and real-world projects. As pioneers we helped shaped the programs culture while building a strong foundation in UX principles. All the projects and internships prepared me for the industry, giving me confidence in my skills. I'm proud to be among the first UX graduates from Amity University and grateful of an experience that has truly transformed my career path.
