PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST Camp (PFT Camp in Association with CIPLA)
Conducted in April –May 2016
In March –April 2017
Free Pulmonary Function testing camp” under the aegis of Human Value Quarter 2017 titled
“Just Breathe” on 3rdApril’2017. Pulmonary Function Testing provides objective evidence in identifying pattern of disease. It detects disease, evaluates extent and monitors cause of disease, determines treatment effectiveness, measures effects of exposure and assesses risk for surgical procedures. You are requested to inform your students to participate in this event.

CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR ) Training Camp Conducted on 30th March 2017
CPR is a part of First aid and stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is an emergency lifesaving procedure that is done when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. This may happen after an electric shock, heart attack, or drowning.CPR combines rescue breathing and chest compressions. Rescue breathing provides oxygen to the person's lungs. Chest compressions keep oxygen-rich blood flowing until the heartbeat and breathing can be restored. Permanent brain damage or death can occur within minutes if blood flow stops. Therefore, it is very important that blood flow and breathing be continued until trained medical help arrives.
Amity Institute of Physiotherapy, Amity Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences and Amity Institute of Occupational Therapy(AIPT, AIPAS & AIOT) jointly organized a FIRST AID AND SAFETY CAMP on the topic “BE PREPARED, LEARN CPR” as a part of
Amity Human Value Quarter 2017 on 30th March 2017 in F-1 block, Lower Ground, from 10.00 a.m.to 2.30 pm.
The lectures and practical/demonstration was conducted by Dr Hersha Vij, M.B.B.S, PGD in Family Medicine from Royal College, London, PGDHSc in Echocardiography , visiting faculty of AIPAS .
The following faculty was responsible to coordinate the camp:
Dr Meenakshi Singh, AP-II, AIPT
Dr Anu Bansal, AP-II, AIPT
Dr Vidhushi Sharma, AP, AIOT
Dr Aparna Sarkar, Associate Professor, AIPT & AIPAS
Students undergo to the following Institutes for Dissertation /Project/Summer Project

Cardiovascular Physiology laboratory
Recording of Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Evaluation of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) : Heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between heartbeats.Heart rate variability (HRV), usually performed from 24 hour ambulatory ECG recordings, measures the variability of the heart rate. Alterations in autonomic balance and baroreceptor function, increased plasma norepinephrine levels, and reduced HRV have been associated with progressive myocardial failure. Not only has reduced HRV been associated with the degree of myocardial failure, possibility of prognostic significiance, but also increased sudden death risk in both ischemic and nonischemic cardiomyopathy in humans.
