The Centre for Pharmacognosy has been at the forefront of harnessing the potential of medicinal plants amidst rapid global advancements. Over the past three decades, herbal drugs have gained widespread acceptance worldwide. Plants play a universal role in disease treatment, evident across all major medical systems. Our department is dedicated to discovering novel drugs and lead compounds from traditional remedies including Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani. This centre imparts knowledge in various fields of natural medicinal products through both theoretical and practical methods. Centre has well-equipped modern facility essential for the extraction and isolation of natural medicinal products.
