Every year on 28 October, International Animation Day (IAD) is marked and celebrated across the world. On this day, in the year 1892, the birth of animation took place as the first public performance of projected moving images at the renowned Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in the city of Paris. IAD was proclaimed as an international observance in the year 2002 by the International Animated Film Association (French: Association Internationale du Film d'Animation, ASIFA) who termed it to be the main global event to celebrate the art of animation. The day was introduced and initiated by ASIFA, which is a member of UNESCO.

We the students of BSc. Animation and Visual Graphics, Amity School of Communication (ASCO) at Amity University, Mumbai never fail to celebrate this day every year with a lot of dedication and hard work. Amity University, Mumbai provides us students this beautiful platform to showcase our various talents. We arrange various events starting from Gaming to Coplay and a lot more. The last two years due to COVID pandemic we haven’t been able to celebrate on campus grounds but that has not failed us at all, rather we come stronger with much more promising events even online. So buckle up as World Animation Day 2021 is around the corner. Save the dates that is 16/11/2021 and 17/11/2021 as we celebrate World Animation Day at Amity University, Mumbai.
