Amity School of Applied Sciences (ASAS-L)organized the guest lecture on ‘Demystifying Analytics’ on dated 24 September 2024. Data analytics involves examining large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights. It transforms raw data into meaningful information that drives decision-making and problem-solving. Types of Data Analytics: Different types of data analytics serve various objectives: 1. Descriptive analytics: Understands historical data and events; 2. Diagnostic analytics: Identifies causes and reasons behind outcomes; 3. Predictive analytics: Makes future predictions using historical data and models; 4. Prescriptive analytics: Recommends actions based on insights for optimization. Data analytics is essential in today’s data-driven world, enabling individuals and researchers to make informed decisions and gain a competitive edge.
This Guest Lecture on demystify data analytics aimed to empower students to embark on their data analysis journey with confidence. Prof. (Dr.) Masood Husain Siddiqui emphasized on following models using real world examples: 1. Descriptive analytics models; 2. Predictive analytics models; 3. Prescriptive analytics models. Students understood and learned about the uses of data analytics through real world examples with visual explanation using various working models. It was a successful and informative event.
