Amity Institute of Pharmacy, under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus organized an online guest lecture on “An overview of cancer types, diagnosis, treatment and predictors of outcome" on 08th October 2024. The event was meticulously synchronized to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees. Esteemed Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gupta, Professor in School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Greater Noida was invited to share his expertise on the topic. The guest lecture provided a comprehensive overview of the pivotal role pharmacist in enhancing predictor outcome of anticancer therapy in clinical practice. The session highlighted the recent breakthroughs and insights in the understanding of rare cancer pathophysiology, diagnosis, and therapeutic modalities, as well as the challenges faced in the development of rare cancer diagnosis data interpretation and drug development. He provided real-world examples that highlighted the importance of evaluating the efficacy and safety of new medications in finding new and advanced chemotherapeutics against different forms of cancer. Participants were engaged through an interactive Q&A session, where Dr. Gupta addressed various queries, further enhancing their understanding of the topic. This well-coordinated lecture not only deepened the attendees' knowledge but also underscored the significance of close monitoring of anticancer therapy against cancer in advancing the role of clinical pharmacists in cancer care and research.
