Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG)
Central Institute for Research on Goats (CIRG) is Asia’s only premier research Institute and autonomous organization under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. The Institute was established on July 1979 with the vision to develop the poor men’s cow - the goat as a source of livelihood security, poverty alleviation and employment generation for the smallholders. Our Mission is to enhance and sustain goat productivity in respect of meat, milk and fibre through Research, Extension and HRD support. The Mandate of the Institute is to undertake basic and applied research in all disciplines of goat production and product utilization, to impart trainings, to transfer technologies and provide consultancy services for improving quantity and quality of meat, milk and fibre production from goat and to develop goat products processing technologies. The institute is located at NH-2 between Agra and Mathura at almost equal distance. These two cities are famous for historical and cultural heritage i.e., the Taj Mahal and birth place of Lord Krishna, respectively. A concerted approach has been adopted by the Institute to demonstrate and implement the available improved technologies at the farmers’ doorstep.

The Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute is a premier institute of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Institute is engaged in research, training and extension activities on sheep and rabbits. The Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) was established by the Government of India in 1952 in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. It was previously known as Desert Afforestation Research Station until it was renamed in 1959. The CAZRI operates through Six Divisions, located at the headquarters in Jodhpur. There are four Regional Research Stations located in different agro-climatic zones to work on location-specific problems. CAZRI, undertakes basic and applied research on sustainable farming systems in the arid ecosystem, act as repository of information on the state of natural resources and desertification processes, develops livestock-based farming systems and range management practices for the chronically drought-affected areas and generating & transferring location-specific technologies.

Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University (SDAU) formerly Gujarat Agricultural University is a State Agricultural University in of Gujarat state started functioning in June 1972.
