FACULTY DEVELOPMENT BRIEF:

The domain of social sciences and humanities in the 21st century has seen increased attention and focus on the study of human behaviour and goal of human welfare. The changing patterns of social structures, ecological shifts, power equations along with powerful social forces has led to new shifts in intellectual history, methodologies of study and scientific explorations. While in the 20th century, the West influenced and dominated the domain of social sciences, the 21st century saw an increasing influence of East and South Asia in world culture, economics, and politics. The age of alignment between science and values, industry and academia, subjectivity with objectivity, exact and natural sciences, and many more multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies have been the focal area.
