School YP team titled ‘Melanite’, lifted the winners trophy and also bagged the award for Creativity for Cause, at the 13th Youth Power finale organised online. The team comprising Kainaat Arif, Gursimran Kaur and Pragati Singh, of Class X and Tvisha Sarkar of Class XI, took up the cause of battling colourism. It collaborated with 20 cake artists from15 countries and had them make cakes representing the issue of colourism. These were then displayed on the team’s Facebook handle for the world to see. Prof Manish K Verma, Secretary, Indian Sociological Society and Dr Sanjiban Banerjee, Molecular Biologist and Co-founder, AbGenics Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd were the jury members of the YP finale.
