Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India is a leading premier institute dedicated to nation service. It offers higher education in forensic sciences at three programmes levels: UG-B.Sc.(Hons.) Forensic Science, PG-M.Sc. (Forensic Science) and Doctorate-Ph.D. (Forensic Science), all the courses aim to foster professional acumen, skills and capabilities to deal with different areas of life in students.

“Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences” is an institute of Amity University which came into existence by an act under the Amity University (Uttar Pradesh) Act, 2005 and it has also been listed under ‘Educational Institutions’ in the U.P. Govt. website (http://www.upgov.nic.in/). The institute is committed to impart education in flipped mode, encompassing four quadrant approach of Interactive Classroom Teaching. Its main aim is to conduct important professional courses in forensic science that can concoct forensic experts and assist in crime free nation building. The institute has organized International and National conferences, workshops, seminars and Quiz competitions.

Objectives

To sensitize researchers, students and society about forensic science and allied sciences and promote research and innovation amongst all.

About Mission Shakti

Mission Shakti is an initiative by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for strengthening Women in state by safeguarding them and sensitizing police and society about their security and interests. Amity University step forward to join the initiative by Hon’ble Chief Minister by organizing a comprehensive discussion by experts on strengthening forensic science in embattling women safety.

Crime against women and children are major challenge to fight with. Despite prodigious efforts, number of cases are on rise. Forensic science is an astute science with an immense potential in thwarting crime. There is an urgent need to unearth all possible prospects and join hands to counterattack this evil and weed it out from our society.

Event Objectives

i. To spread awareness of date rape drugs and prevention of drug facilitated sexual assault cases.
ii. To develop an understanding of application of Forensic Science in identification of serial killers involved in women and children related crimes.
iii. To sensitize participants about safety of women and children by application of Forensic Science and Law.

Learning Outcomes

i. To enhance knowledge on different drugs used in DFSA cases.
ii. To familiarize on profiles of serial killers involved in women and children related crimes.
iii. To empower women and children with enhancing knowledge of their rights and protection measures using preventive forensics.
