Today the Amity Universe is an amalgamation of over 80 world-class institutions imparting 130 Post Graduate and Graduate programme in diverse disciplines to 35,000 student across 22 campuses.
Ambassador T. P. Sreenivasan (Rtd) brings to his position as Director General of Amity Centre for International Studies and Research a brilliant academic record, having stood first in the Kerala University for both M.A. and B.A. (English), a distinguished career in the Indian Foreign Service spanning thirty-seven years, including eighteen years in ambassadorial positions, excellent communications and oratorical skills, a keen sense of humour, a thirst for knowledge and intellectual fulfillment and a passion for teaching. He has served in Indian missions in different parts of the globe. He has the unique distinction of having been posted to the United States thrice in crucial positions in New York and Washington. He has nearly twenty years of experience of the UN in New York, Nairobi and Vienna. As the Governor for India of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna he became a renowned authority on nuclear matters. He has won acclaim as the Chairman of several U. N., and Nonaligned Conferences.
The establishment of an International Centre in Thiruvananthapuram was a dream he had cherished for many years.
An advisory Board, consisting of eminent persons will help the Centre to formulate its policies and programmes.
Members of the Centre will be entitled to participate in designated activities and avail of its services.
