Prof Dr Vivek Gupta Ramnarain

Vice Chancellor and Director

Prof Dr Vivek Gupta Ramnarain is currently the Vice Chancellor and Director, Amity Institute of Higher Education and Amity Global Business School. He joined Amity Mauritius on 01 March 2022.

Prior to his joining Amity Mauritius, he was the Ag Head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Division at the Quality Assurance Authority and the Ex-Tertiary Education Commission, Mauritius. His professional involvement at these two institutions for over 16 years included facilitating the development/review and implementation of institutional quality assurance mechanisms: undertaking external quality audits of the tertiary education institutions and accreditation of tertiary level programmes in the private sector as well as determining recognition and equivalence of qualifications. He has participated in several auditing exercises in the SADC Region (South Africa, Namibia, Seychelles, Mauritius) as an Auditor of Higher Education Institutions.

He has also lectured Marketing and Management subjects at undergraduate and post graduate level at the different public universities in Mauritius as well as some private institutions for almost 20 years.

He completed his undergraduate (BSc Hons Chemistry) and post graduate studies (MBA) in India at the University of Delhi in 1992 and University of Poona in 1994 respectively. He completed his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Leeds Beckett University, UK in 2016. His thesis title was “A Study of the Accreditation Model Currently Embedded in Higher Education in Mauritius – A Stakeholder Perspective”. He has also completed his studies in Law (Graduate Diploma in Law) from the University of Central Lancashire, UK.

He has been actively involved in organising the International Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (INQAAHE) Forum 2018 in Mauritius. The INQAAHE is a world-wide association of nearly 300 organisations active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education. Together with his dedicated team he prepared and defended the bid in Fiji in 2016. Bidding for the INQAAHE Forum 2018 was a real challenge for him from the point of view of a small island state. He has always aimed to bring the quality agenda high in the higher education sector through his involvement with INQAAHE as a Board Member and Executive Member and served as Treasurer from May 2018 to May 2020.

He has a keen interest in sports as well and was actively involved playing volleyball at national level and also served as Vice President of the Mauritius Volleyball Association.

Mrs Fazeela Banu

Mrs Fazeela Banu has two decades of experience in ITES and Education Sector with more than a decade of international experience in the Higher Education Sector. She has 13 years of Experience working at AMITY Mauritius.

She is an expert in devising strategies for international students’ recruitment. She is well-known for transforming the students during their studentship into great assets to society and the world of work. Fervent follower of Innovative teaching and learning practices, she has been mentoring local and international Students enrolled at AMITY Mauritius. She has trained and placed 1000’s of students in top organizations.

She has substantial experience in collaboration with Foreign Universities for partnerships & exchange programs. She has more than a decade of experience in teaching on UK programmes. Under her supervision, AMITY Mauritius Marketing team has consistently achieved growth in Local and International student’s recruitment.

She is a Registered Trainer in the field of Management with the Mauritius Qualifications Authority and approved MQA Programme Manager for AMITY Mauritius. She is also an approved trainer in Global Employability Skills (UK). She has conducted many Corporate Training & Team building programmes for the corporates in India and Internationally.

She is also a lead corporate trainer on different topics such as Attitude & Behaviour of employees, Emotional Intelligence, Stress management, Leading people at the time of change, Hybrid productivity, Leadership 4.0, Conflict resolution, Diversity Inclusion, and customized HR Topics as per the needs of the organization.

She has organized 4 International conferences. She has also honed Global Business Operations skills along with International Business Development Skills and Franchisee management. She is an expert in Level seven Academic writing and has conducted workshops for Master level students. As the International Partnership Manager for the University of Northampton programmes she has ensured a good number of distinctions achievements in each of the cohorts.

Published article on Foreign Direct Investment, Women Entrepreneurships in Mauritius, Artificial Intelligence, Higher Education, and presented the same in National and International Conferences. Adding to her profile she was appointed twice as special officer on duty for setting up a new international campus. She was also appointed as Special officer on duty for an audit and to submit a strategic plan for expansion and growth of the existing international campus in South Africa.

Prof Ashish GADEKAR

Prof Ashish Gadekar serves as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Management at AMITY Mauritius, with a strong research focus on Industry 4.0 and Education 4.0. A firm advocate of research-driven teaching and learning, Prof. Gadekar believes there is no substitute for an inquiry-based approach in the classroom. With over 27 years of experience in higher education, he has also excelled as a consultant, trainer, and mentor to corporate leaders.

In addition to his teaching excellence, Prof. Gadekar has held influential roles on the editorial and review boards of prestigious international journals and has served as Editor-in-Chief for several publications. He has authored over 40 research papers presented at international conferences and published in reputed journals.

As a leader, Prof. Gadekar has consistently delivered academic excellence in his roles as Academic Head, Head of Doctoral School, Dean, Head of Research, and Department Head, fostering a culture of research among faculty and students. He has designed and implemented innovative, robust, and practical pedagogies that make subject knowledge engaging and relevant to real-world challenges. A strong proponent of leveraging emerging technologies, he ensures a student-centric and dynamic learning environment.

Agnes Nalini Vincent

Agnes Nalini VINCENT is the Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and Head of Teaching and Learning at AMITY Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Mauritius. She holds a Master’s in Engineering degree from Anna University, Chennai, India an Executive MBA and is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

With over 17+ years of experience in teaching, research and administration, she has been instrumental in framing the pedagogies from undergraduate to post graduate studies. She has been the pioneer to develop curriculum in Big Data Analytics, Internet of Things and Data Sciences and launched them as a courses in Mauritius. She has published national and international research papers in Journals indexed in IEEE, and Scopus.

Agnes, through her research in ‘Deep Learning for Marine Data Analytics’ has contributed to the 14th Sustainable Development Goal – ‘Live Below Water’ in Mauritius.

As a faculty, she has been offering a wealth of talent in the development and implementation of educational technology tools and applications in the classroom. Her area of interests includes Artificial Intelligence, Data mining, Data Science, Internet of Things, and Blockchain Technology.

Prof Tulsidas Radhakrishna NARRAIDOO

Prof Tulsidas has been in the teaching profession for the last 24 years to undergraduates and postgraduates students in Human Resources management and Hospitality and Tourism Management and supervising Doctorate students at the University of Mauritius , University of Technology, University of Mascarenes ,Cyprus School of Management ( Cyprus), International Institute of Management – Lucerne – Switzerland, International University of Management – Namibia, South African Training Institute – Cape Town.

Prof Tulsidas has published 15 papers in Human Resources Development, Tourism and Hospitality.

He has also been Group Human Resources Director for Naide Group of Hotels as well as Regional Manager for LUX Grand Gaube and LUX Grand Bay, Prof Tulsidas has been Group Human Resources Director for Apavou Group of Hotels and Group Human Resources Director for Alizee Resorts.

Miss Vanisha RAJAYSUR

Miss Vanisha is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and goal-driven professional Programme Leader and Lecturer, with a solid commitment to the students’ academic growth and development from the Faculty of Management at AMITY Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) Mauritius since the year 2020. Holder of a Global MBA with specialization in HRM from London Metropolitan University (UK), she is currently pursuing her DBA in the field of Human Resource Management.

Accustomed to working in a multicultural environment that emphasizes inclusion, she holds 12 solid years of experience in the field of Human Resources and Management, serving key HR positions from various corporate sectors of Mauritius. Additionally, she holds 6+ years of academic and teaching experience with Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from diverse countries. She formerly served as Lecturer/Tutor/Industry Expert in various renowned Higher Education institutions like AMITY, Middlesex (Mauritius), Vatel (Mauritius). She is a panel member for prestigious National and International conferences in HR, Women Empowerment, Leadership, and Sustainability. 

She is a registered MQA trainer in her field and presently serving as the MQA officer at AIHE. As part of her development, Miss Vanisha is also indulged in Academic Research with few research publications. She has played a vital role in many curriculum developments at the institution in Management, Hospitality and Tourism and MBA level. Her philosophy is to blend the soundness of theoretical and practical perspective of workplace through teaching-learning experience to groom the students for their future.

Varun Dutt DOMUN

Chief Information Officer and Lecturer in IT

Varun Dutt Domun serves as Chief Information Officer as well as lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology at AMITY Mauritius, with a strong focus on Cyber Security. Prior to joining the world of academia, Mr Domun has worked in the IT sector at various levels. Mr Domun has over 8 years of experience in the higher education sector both as CIO, Head of School of IT and Lecturer and he managed the setting up of the IT Infrastructure of several campuses belonging to different institutions both locally and in Africa. As a Lecturer, Mr Domun has a lot of teaching experience with prestigious British universities. Mr Domun is a professional member of the British Computer Society and is a fellow of the Paul Harris Foundation.

His contributions to the IT Industry in terms of research in new avenues of development or strengthening existing areas have been rewarded through several exclusive achievements, by the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute for IT (Mauritius Section).

Naveli KARIMAN NUNKOO

Mrs Naveli has administrative experience in the field of education and training and has worked on various national projects related to education and training for the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research and for the Human Resource and Development Council (HRDC).

Her research interests lie at the intersection between tourism and public policy making. Her teaching interests are in tourism and hospitality management, and sustainable tourism.

Miss Grishma Thacker

Regional Manager – Student Recruitment and Admissions

Grishma serves as the Regional Manager of Student Recruitment and Admissions at Amity Mauritius. She has graduated from Raffles College of Higher Education, Singapore.

With over 9 years of experience in international student recruitment, Grishma brings a wealth of expertise in driving student enrolment and institutional growth within higher education. She has a track record of managing global recruitment strategies across mature and emerging markets, successfully expanding the university’s reach based in Singapore, Australia, France, South Asia and Africa.

Grishma is passionate about enhancing the student experience and fostering international partnerships that align with the organization goals. She also holds certification as an International Career Coach, further solidifying her commitment to student success and professional development.

Mr. Noor Akbar

Mr Noor Mohammad Akbar - Manager Admissions and Student Support

Mr. Noor Akbar has over 10 years of professional experience and holds an MBA in General Management from the University of Northampton. He began his career as a Sales Support Agent while pursuing his BSc (Hons) in Business Management with a specialization in Marketing. In 2022, Mr. Akbar joined AMITY as a Part-Time Lecturer, and in 2024, he transitioned to a full-time position as Manager of Admissions and Student Support.

In his role as Admissions and Student Support Manager, Mr. Akbar plays a vital part in guiding prospective students through the admissions process, ensuring that they receive accurate information and personalized support tailored to their individual needs. Mrs. Pouvanum Samynaden Nagen

Mr. Noor Akbar has over 10 years of professional experience and holds an MBA in General Management from the University of Northampton. Ms. Parchna Jagannath

Ms. Parchna has over four years of experience in the education sector. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Mauritius and is currently pursuing an MBA. Starting her career as an educator, she joined AMITY in 2022 as an Examination Clerk and has since advanced to the role of Acting Controller of Examinations. In this capacity, she ensures the integrity and efficiency of assessment processes.

Known for her organisational skills and attention to detail, Ms. Parchna is dedicated to enhancing the academic experience for students and faculty alike, contributing to the institution's reputation for excellence in education.

Mrs Chowdranee Soobarah

Mrs. Chowdranee Soobarah has been a Finance Officer at Amity Education Private Limited since 2020. With extensive experience in the finance sector dating back to 1986, she has worked with various institutions and companies, honing her expertise over the years.

Mrs. Soobarah holds professional qualifications from the London Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Bookkeeping, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field

Mr Sanjaysingh Khadaroo

Mr. Sanjaysingh Khadaroo holds a Diploma in Business Management and has joined AMITY (Mauritius) as an Assistant Finance and Human Resources Officer. Throughout his career, which spans nearly 37 years since 1987, he has consistently worked in administration and the HR department, with additional experience coordinating the Sales Department at various points.

Joining AMITY marks a significant new chapter for Mr. Khadaroo, and he is committed to delivering his best in all assigned duties and contributing positively to the institution.
