About Us

Amity Institute for Sanskrit Studies and Research is a premier institute offering UG, PG and PhD programs in Sanskrit Studies. The programs aim to provide an in-depth study of a broad spectrum of Sanskrit language and literature, including Vedic and post-Vedic texts. Students are initiated to acquire and understand the various forms of poetry, prose, grammar and epigraphy. A wide range of elective courses are offered to ensure the multidimensional development of the personality of the students. to imbibe the call of modern education; The focus is on developing the skills of explanation, translation, creative writing, understanding of ancient scripts and hymns as well as psalms. Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence courses are available in the field of Sanskrit Studies to meet the requirements of Education 4.0. Adhering to the uniqueness of Amity, we provide ample opportunities and support for the placement and self-employment of Sanskrit graduates.

'संस्कृतिः संस्कृताश्रिता' i.e. Indian culture is founded upon Sanskrit is becoming the slogan of new India with exploration and expansion of the Indian Knowledge system making its place among the top priorities of the Central Government. Inspired with this trend and vision of the Hon’ble Founder President of Amity Universe, our insitition is surging ahead towards making Sanskrit language and studies not only to occupy the due space in education, economy and eco-system of today but also an alluring means of subsistance for its scholars. All this reflects in the curriculum, content and accomplishments at AISSR.
