The field of forensic DNA analysis has grown immensely in the past two decades and genotyping of biological samples is now routinely performed in Human Identification laboratories.

Students of Amity School of Biotechnology got the opportunity to interact with Dr. Nitin Deshmukh, Director, Perceptive Biotech and his colleagues. Dr. Deshmukh spoke at length on the application areas of DNA profiling which included paternity testing, forensic casework, family lineage studies, identification of human remains and DNA databasing.

Current practices and emerging trends exploring the fundamental principles and application of technologies were also discussed with the students. It was truly a knowledgeable session for the young biotech scientists.
