  • ABOUT THE PROGRAM

    The International Science Olympiads are a group of worldwide annual competitions in various areas of the formal sciences and natural sciences. The competitions are designed for the 4-6 best students from each participating country in specific age group selected through internal National Science Olympiads.

    The aims of ISO are to promote a career in science; to challenge the brightest students from around the world. Although the competitions are aimed for secondary school pupils, the standard of the exams are extremely high. In fact, achieving a high ranking in any ISO guarantees access to a university of choice and a fellowship. Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Cambridge, for example, famously recruit a multitude of ISO medalists to their incoming undergraduate class every year.

    Students, who represent India in the International Olympiads in Physics / Chemistry /Mathematics / Informatics and Astronomy automatically qualify for KVPY Fellowship. Most of the top ranked students in JEE and NEET entrance examinations are mostly Olympiad qualifiers, although no direct weightage is given to medalists as such.

  • INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD

    The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. This programme is one of the major initiatives undertaken by the NBHM.

    Stages of the Mathematical Olympiad.

    • PRMO (Pre regional mathematical Olympiad)
    • RMO (Regional mathematical Olympiad)
    • INMO (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad)
    • IMOTC (International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp)
    • OCSC (Orientation cum Selection camp)
    • DPC (Pre-Departure camp)
    • IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad)

    The Pre- Regional Mathematical Olympiad is the first level of Mathematics Olympiad. PRMO is conducted by the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (MTA) while the remaining rounds of the Mathematical Olympiad Program are conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

    PRMO and RMO stages of examinations have been taken together in 2020 and 2021 by the name of IOQM

    Students studying in class 8 to 12 and who are born on or after August 1, 2004, were eligible for PRMO registration 2023-24.

    The application fee for PRMO 2023-24 is Rs 230. (approx.)

    PRMO syllabus is pre-degree college mathematics. The syllabus focuses on geometry, combinatorics, equations, trigonometry and other basic pre-calculus mathematics.

    PRMO 2023-24 Program for Pre- Regional Mathematical Olympiad emphasis on improving mental and analytical ability of students and developing a strong foundation and help them to clear the highly prestigious Pre- Regional Mathematical Olympiad.

    2 Hrs. Classes per week each for Mathematics and Science. Time allotted for subject as follows:

    • SUBJECT ENRICHMENT SESSION before PRMO Practice Test.
    (NOTE: CLASSES WILL START from Feb. 2023 and conducted till final exam.)
