United Nations Human Rights Council

Amity International Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations spanning over two days. At AMIMUN, delegates gain in-depth knowledge of diplomacy, international relations, and the inner workings of the United Nations.

Committee Introduction

Despite living in an era of progress, human rights violations are increasingly prevalent in the current discourse. Thus the mandate of the Humans Rights Council, to promote “universal respect for the protection of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all” is something that must be enforced and deliberated upon. The delegates in the Council must uphold the highest standards in the promotion and protection of human rights. As a result of its discussions, the Council may issue resolutions calling on States to take specific actions or uphold certain principles, or it may create mechanisms to investigate or monitor questions of concern.
