What is Riverathon 1.0?

Join a dynamic community of river enthusiasts - including students, researchers, and technologists - united by a common goal: to tackle the pressing challenges facing our rivers. Through the use of advanced LiDAR technology, Riverathon invites participants to map, analyze, and craft forward-thinking solutions aimed at creating a healthier and more resilient river ecosystem. From flood prevention to biodiversity enhancement, your ideas can make a lasting impact.
This is more than just a competition - it’s a movement. Riverathon offers a vibrant platform to collaborate with like-minded innovators, sharpen your skills, and contribute to meaningful environmental change. It's your opportunity to combine creativity with purpose and play an active role in shaping the future of river conservation.

Riverathon 1.0, the flagship event under the Namami Gange Programme, is the first-ever hackathon dedicated to rivers using LiDAR data provided by the Survey of India. It brings together diverse minds from engineering, environmental science, data analytics, and innovation to reimagine the future of our rivers.
At its core, Riverathon promotes a multidisciplinary approach that blends cutting-edge technology with policy insights and community engagement - all aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. By participating, you’re not just competing - you’re contributing to water conservation, climate resilience, and the revival of our ecosystems.
