Amity University Jharkhand Organized Online guest lecture on "Right of Private Defence"
The one-day event in the context of Right of Private Defence was organized by Amity University Jharkhand on April 27th, 2021. This event was especially for the students of Law and BA English Honours.
The programme began with the welcome by Ms. Anita Shekhar the Convener, and Ms. Ayushi Zina the moderator of the event. Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University Jharkhand addressed the gathering on the importance of Right of Private Defence. Prof. Dr. Raman Kumar Jha Vice-Chancellor, Shri Prabhakar Tripathi Registrar, Prof. Dr. Prabhat Kumar Tripathi, Assistant Director, Amity University Jharkhand gave their blessings.
The event was dignified by the address of the Chief Guest Mr. Vipul Shukla, Retired Inspector General of Police. He discussed sections 96 to 106 of Indian Penal Code. He said, “Everyone has the right to defend his own body and property and also if there is any need to defend other people and property, don't hesitate to come forward". Thereafter an interactive question answer session was held.
The event successfully ended with the vote of thanks which was given by Ms. Anita Shekhar, Assistant Professor, Amity University Jharkhand.
