The Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) organized an Awareness Program on Drug Price Control on 29th July 2024. This program featured a guest lecture from the PMRU (Price Monitoring and Resource Unit) team of Uttar Pradesh, Government of India. The theme of the program was “Sahi Dawa Sahi Daam”. The event aimed to educate pharmacy students, faculties and staff on the complexities of drug pricing and control mechanisms, emphasizing their impact on healthcare accessibility and affordability. The program was enriched with an elaborate talk on the theme by Ms. Priyanka Mishra, Project Coordinator of PMRU Uttar Pradesh, Government of India, who explained various aspects, including the roles of Government, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, and consumers in regulating drug prices. She also highlighted current policies and regulatory frameworks in India. The team discussed the Pharma Sahi Daam App, which was launched by the Government of India. They also explained the process for generating complaints regarding any issues related to pricing. At the end of the discussion an interactive Q&A session was held, where students actively engaged with the speaker team including Ms. Priyanka Mishra, Mr. Govind Ray and Mr. Vivek Kumar Pandey. The team from PMRU, Uttar Pradesh, addressed all queries from students and faculty members.
