Amity Business School of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus is organizing its sixth inter–college debate competition Amity I Believe on 30th September and 1st October 2019 in the Auditorium of the University. Debate competition provides a platform to the youth to put forward their views and opinions and nurture their communication skills.
The Annual debate competition was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Rohit Kushwaha Director Amity Business School highlighted the main objective of the event and thanked all participants for giving such a encouraging response. On the occasion Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Sunil Dhaneshwar and Asst Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Anil Tiwari were also present and blessed the participants.
The competition commenced on 29th September 2019. The participants were given the topic “Mobile Apps An Invasion to privacy” for the preliminary round. The judges for the preliminary round were Prof Vijaya Sethi, Mr Lalit Prasad Jaiswal and Mr. Ashish Dalwani. 45 teams participated representing approximately 17 states of the country. The participating teams expressed their views for or against the motion. The debate was judged on the of basis - the debate, the rebuttal round and a two–minute summary.
Final round of the debate competition was held on 1st October 2019. Eight teams that were selected from the preliminary round held on 30th September 2019. Four teams against the motion and four teams for the motion. The final eight teams were given the topic “Love has no gender”. The participants were required to present their views in 3 rounds - the debate, the rebuttal round and a two–minute summary by all the finalist teams.
Mr. Carlyle McFarland principal La Martinere Boys School moderated the debate discussion. The panel of judges included Dr. Smita Sahu faculty at National PG College, Ms. Kanak Rekha Chauhan was awarded the Penguine Ambassador for Lucknow, Mr. Kiron Chopra Managing Director Chopra Retec Rubber Products Ltd.
