 Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 73rdIndependence Day 

on 15thAugust 2019

Amity University Madhya Pradesh celebrated the 73rd Independence Day of the Country with patriotic zeal and spirit on 15th August 2019 and remembered with gratitude the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd). This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. On this occasion Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the Amitians and congratulated the Amity family on the 73rd Independence Day and urged everyone to be diligent in performing their duties. He pointed out five major deterrents to Nation building: Spirit of tolerance, Brotherhood, Integrity, Discipline and Hard work, so that India becomes economically strong to emerge as a world leader in the near future.He also motivated the students to be independent in terms of learning, as knowledge is not restricted to classrooms.

Following this, all Amitians pledged to contribute to plant the trees for making the environment green and clean. Various cultural programs were a part of celebration of the Independence Day which included Patriotic songs and Group dance by the students of AUMP.  

Prizes were also given away by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M. P. Kaushik, to the winners of Essay Writing, Elocution, Selfie and Poster making Competition organized under the Hariyali Mahotsav. 

The programme culminated with the distribution of sweets.
