  Amity University Madhya Pradesh Organizes Orientation Programme 2019

Amity University Madhya Pradesh organised a two-day orientation programme for its new batch of students on 19-20August, 2019.

The first day began with the registration of the new students followed by the invocation of the Gods with a Hawan in which Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, HoD’s, HoI’s, all faculty members along with the new students participated with great enthusiasm.

The formal programme started with the address of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen V. K. Sharma (AVSM) Retd. Delivering the inaugural address, he informed the students about the opportunities before them and how Amity provides quality holistic education to its students. He also gave an overview of life at Amity besides familiarizing them with various facilities, amenities and world class education at AUMP. He urged the students to follow the rules and guidelines set by the university diligently. He ended his address with an urge to the students to imbibe the qualities of an Amitian as delineated by Hon’ble Founder President in his mantra – BHAAGO, an acronym for Behaviour, Hard Work, Attitude, Ambition and God.

Following the Vice Chancellor’s address, the students were apprised about the Choice Based Credit System and the Anti-Ragging Monitoring System at AUMP by the Dean Academics, Prof (Dr) R. S. Tomar. In the second half of the day, the students registered themselves with their respective programmes on AMIZONE. Following this, an MBTI Assessment and a Language Competency test was conducted for all the students by AIBAS and ASL/ASCENT.

The second day of the Orientation Programme commenced with the address of Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr.) M.P. He gave the students an insight into the code of conduct and campus discipline. Taking examples from the lives of great men, he outlined that there is no substitute for hard work, discipline and nobility of character on the path of success.

In the second half of day-two, the students interacted with their respective HoDs and HoIs and other faculty members. This was followed by an ice breaking session ‘Amity Talent Hunt’ organized by ASCO in which the new entrants were given an opportunity to showcase their talents in literary and cultural genres.

The two-day long Orientation Programme equipped the students with all necessary information and helped them acclimatize to the life and culture of Amity University so that they can attend the classes commencing from 21 August 2019 with ease and enthusiasm.
