Amity University Haryana is a research and innovation driven university. It has developed strong relationships with Academic Institutions for conducting research in terms of joint Ph D and working on research projects. Presently, AUH faculty members have collaboration with Div. of Pathology, Gola, Khiri, UP, National Brain Research Centre, Maneser, ICGEB, New Delhi, Department of Applied Chemistry, Delhi Technological University, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Researcher, Molecular Oncology Lab. Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute, Dpt. of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, NIPGR, New Delhi, Ulster University to name a few. There are research projects funded by DBT, DST, MNRE, ICMR, Global Affairs Office. Yuan Ze University, Ministry of Textiles, Central Sanskrit University to name a few wherein faculty members have collaborated with researchers from India and abroad.
The faculty members and students are involved in clean energy research which are funded by different Government & Non- Government Agencies viz. Sustainable use of unconventional fibers of Indian Himalayas for Agro Textiles (funded by Ministry of Textiles), Development of Novel metamaterials using nanoferrite composites for microwave absorber application (funded by SERB), Metal Complexes of cyclic N-donor ligands for electro-/Photo-catalytic reduction of Carbon dioxide (funded by DST- Haryana), Green-synthesized nanoparticles dispersed liquid crystals for display applications (funded by SERB-SURE), Development of High-resolution future climate scenarios for the NCR region under climate change and urbanization (funded by SERB-SURE) and Development of Nanomaterials for High Density Application (funded by Global Affairs Office. Yuan Ze University) amounting to Rs. 20203948.
AUH is recognised by National Institute of Solar Energy as a training partner for Suryamitra Skill development program. The objective of this skill training program is to create manpower for the solar industry. A skill development program “Integrated approach in science technology and skilling for sustainable future” funded by DST Haryana is also conducted at AUH.
Amity University Haryana is recognised as a Partnering Institution for the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a flagship program of the Ministry of Education. Five villages have been selected to conduct developmental work in the field of renewable energy, mental and physical health, skill development and entrepreneurship.

Eradicating extreme poverty for all people everywhere by 2030 is a pivotal goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As per reports, extreme poverty, defined as surviving on less than $2.15 per person per day at 2017 purchasing power parity, has witnessed remarkable declines over recent decades.
AUH has played an important role in eradicating poverty by providing quality education to students from all economic strata. It has created a culture of Service before self and students are engaged in transferring knowledge to kids from the slums and also help them by providing books, clothes and food. Military training camps are conducted regularly for all students of AUH to train them for the future requirements, to make them responsible citizens. Skill development training programs for staffs, lab assistants are conducted to enhance their knowledge and equip them with the skills that are required for sustaining in the ever changing economy.
As emphasized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, “Wasting less, eating better and adopting a sustainable lifestyle are key to building a world free of hunger. The choices we make today are vital for a secure future of food.”
At AUH the students undergo a week long orientation program wherein they are exposed to the culture of Zero Food Waste. There are student clubs who are involved in creating awareness among the mass regarding sustainable environmental practices. Agriculture is an integral part of AUH. Amity University Haryana houses a full fledged Herbal garden, Agrivoltaic plant, Go-Shala (Cow Shed) and farmland where all seasonal vegetables are grown. This helps students in learning the sustainable agri-technology.

Student’s graduating from Amity Medical School of Amity University Haryana in various domains of health and allied sciences are specialized in vocational domains like Nutritionists, dieticians, optometrists, audiologists, speech language pathologists, nurses, and medical lab technologist. Considering research being an integral part of health care systems, there are many other courses offered by AMS like clinical research, public health, and stem cell technology, which could provide a strong assistance to practicing doctors and surgeons. Students also opt for Hospital Administration after successful completion of master’s in public health. All these courses help in producing many allied health professionals who can make a strong and lasting impact on the healthcare ecosystem. Outreach initiatives are being carried out at Amity University with basic objective to create social awareness amongst the students. A “DIET CLINIC” is a remarkable initiative in the direction of overall health and wellbeing taken by the Department of Dietetics & Applied Nutrition in which free diet counselling is being given to various inmates including faculty, staff and students of the university on regular basis to keep them aware about the healthy lifestyle and its impact on overall health and wellness. Additionally, Free eye checkup and hearing test is also offered at Amity University by concerned departments.
Sustainable Development Goal 4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning opportunities. Amity University Haryana strategic plan focuses on maintaining high quality research with substantial international, national, and local impact. The research conducted at the university gives impetus to address societal needs and create innovative intellectual property rights which can be used to cater to the sustainability goals of the rural and urban community.
AUH houses an air quality monitoring station established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM-MoES), Pune. It has a centralized instrumental research facility which is created by funding from DST FIST program and other research funding awarded to faculty members by various funding agencies.
Education is a lifelong process that is vital to India’s economic and social progress. Gender inequality is a factor which is a major factor affecting the sustainable development goals of a country. At Amity University Haryana, exclusion in education is created when gender overlaps with other disparities such as race, ethnicity, class, disability, and geography. There is no discrimination based on curriculum, learning materials, teaching pedagogy, teacher education, management, administration, assessment, and monitoring and evaluation processes in the educational system at AUH. The HR policy followed at AUH, do not discriminate faculty or staff based on the gender. The hiring of faculty and staff is done based on merit only. At AUH to ensure that the education system supports gender-equitable experiences for all, targeted policies, practices, and research are conducted to maintain the holistic teaching learning experience at AUH.
Amity University Haryana uses subterranean bore wells, to extract all the water required for domestic and drinking purposes on campus. Recycled water is used for irrigation, gardening, chiller plant cooling towers, and civil construction projects.

Efficient water management is crucial, especially in regions where groundwater resources are relied upon for daily needs. Monitoring water usage, promoting recycling, and installing water meters are all steps in the right direction to conserve and manage water resources responsibly.

Community based research work in clean energy translation is one of the major initiative taken by AUH. Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, AUH has taken initiatives to educate people from villages regarding the sustainable energy sources and the innovative technologies.
Amity University Haryana provides decent work space to all faculty, and staff. There are more than 200 non-teaching staffs who are employed from the local community. They are provided with skills training as per the job requirement. They are employed in different job roles based on their skill set starting from Lab Assistant, Office staff, Gardener, drivers, cleaning staff, and also for Operations & Maintenance of the university facilities. They are even provided on time salary, uniform and provided free medical facility on-campus in the AUH medical school. This has helped in improving the socio economic condition of people in the nearby five villages.

In order to minimize any negative environmental impact of its operations, the University is conscious of its obligations to conserve the environment and adheres to the sustainable development concept. Since its establishment, the institution has ensured its growth is in keeping with the principles of environmental justice by caring for its resource base, which includes native vegetation, the water environment, and architectural design. As a result, the university regions' total output has improved relative to its surroundings. University buildings naturally incorporate passive green elements, such as sunken areas designed to lower summertime temperatures.

The organic waste collected from farm house is disposed through bio gas production and composting infrastructure available at campus. The by-products are further utilized locally for heating and manure.

Amity University Haryana is committed to the Sustainability Development Goal 14 to conserve life below water. Our faculty and students are actively involved in research work in this field and we have as many as 5 Publications related to this SDG in 2021-2022. AUH has a water sensitive waste disposal policy available at https://www.amity.edu/gurugram/pdf/amity_university_haryana_ssr_cycle1.pdf. A proper procedure is followed for segregation of dry and wet waste at source itself followed by collection and disposal, without compromising sanitation and hygiene. A very effective waste collection infrastructure is maintained for segregation of waste. A small recycling unit in form of composting and biogas unit are also maintained to supplement in house requirements of organic manure and energy need. University discourages uses of plastic; particularly single use plastics in campus. There are two authorized vendors M/s Arya Pvt Ltd. And M/s Resource E waste Solutions Pvt Ltd to dispose solid wastes like tube lights, glass batteries etc.). AUH has a well defied policy on Environmental Consciousness and Sustainability Policy, under which reduction and rational use of plastic is one important aspect. Amity University Haryana is committed to the Sustainability Development Goal 15 to conserve life on land. Our faculty and students are actively involved in research work in this field and we have high impact Publications related to this SDG in 2021-2022. Events related to sustainable use of land are regularly conducted. Examples are webinar entitled “Earth Day 2022: Restore Our Planet” conducted. To maintain biodiversity of current ecosystem we have a herbal garden and on campus organic farms. The production of the organic farm was (i) pulses and legumes, (ii) wheat and cereals , (iii) spices and herbs and (iv) potatoes. There is a dairy on campus and milk production from this was approx. 90000 liters.
