Amity School of Engineering and Technology of Amity University Madhya Pradesh Located at Gwalior conducted a seminar on “Image Processing- Recent Advances and Applications” on 08 August 2014.The seminar started with traditional lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Inaugurating the seminar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma delivered his opening remarks on the theme by focusing on Image Processing-Recent Advances and Applications. He presented numerous examples on the applications of Image Processing. Prof. Shashikala Tapaswi, Professor, ABV-IIITM Gwalior was the Chief Guest of the seminar. She delivered the keynote address to the participants of the seminar on Image Retrieval System. She discussed about advances and applications of Image processing. She also presented on the future trends of image processing.

The students of Second year (III Sem) B.Tech. (ECE and CSE) of Amity University Madhya Pradesh delivered a number of well- researched presentations on the focus area with sub-themes in Pattern Recognition, Image Processing Technologies, Remote Sensing, Biomedical Imaging. Abhijith Menon, Priyanka Yadav, Vellala Sudhanvi Ramasai, Sakshi Dixit, Maaz Hasan, Nishant Nagar presented a paper on Pattern Recognition. Pooja Dixit, Shivani Khurana, Himanshu Bharadwaj, Anshini Gaur, Ishan Dubey, Balineni Manoj Kumar presented a paper on Image Processing Technologies. Anurag Shukla, Sabnam Bhadoria, Neha Rajput, D. Vamsi Nandan, Akansha Kumar presented a paper on Remote Sensing. Shaik Nagur Meeravali, Barkha Sharma, Abhishek Shukla, Tanushri Soni, Rahul Dahiya presented a paper on Biomedical Imaging. The student presentations were formalized under the active guidance of Mrs. Rinkoo Bhatiya, Head, ECE and Mr. Vivek Parashar, Head, CSE. The programme was hosted by Shanan Poply and Shivani Dubey. Participation certificates were distributed to all the speakers of the seminar by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP and the Chief Guest. The Dean (Academics), Dean (Research), Registrar, Director (Administration), Heads of Schools, faculty members, staff members and students of the university were present on the occasion. A vote of thanks was proposed by the convener of the programme. The programme was conducted by Prof(Dr.) Bikram K. Bahinipati, Deputy Director and Head of Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh. The event was highlighted by overwhelming participation by students and faculties of Amity University, which was organized in the packed-house auditorium of the university.
