1. On the occasion of the Student’s Day of IETE on 1st February 2014, a Symposia- 2014 on “Recent Trends in Information, Communication & Technology (RT-ICT-2014)” was jointly organized by IETE Lucknow Centre & IETE Students’ Forum, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University, Lucknow in the Auditorium of Amity University, Lucknow Campus. Students from many colleges in Lucknow participated with event.
The Symposia-2014 consisted of two events namely Paper Presentation competition and Technical Quiz Competition among U.G. Students of various Engineering Institutions on following topics.:-

· Optical Communication
· Microwave and Mobile Computing,
· Embedded System and its application
· Robotics and Automation
· Components and Packaging Technologies
· Speech and Language Processing
· Energy Conversion
· Renewable Sources of Energy
· Image Processing and Pattern Recognition
· Artificial Intelligence & Neural Network
· Cryptography and Network Security
· Knowledge and Data Engineering
2. In the Symposia-2014 the teams from Amity School of Engineering and Technology Amity University Lucknow Campus, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering & Management, Integral University, BBD University, BBDNIIT Lucknow, B.N. College of Engineering & Technology, Rameshwaram Institute of Technology & Management, Goel Institute of Technology & Management Lucknow, Ambalika Institute of Management & Technology, Dr. M.C. Saxena College of Engg. & Technology Lucknow, Global Institute of Technology, Lucknow, Sherwood College of Engineering Research & Technology, Barabanki and IETE Lucknow Center participated.
3. In the Symposia, we received twenty four papers from various institutions of Lucknow, and Barabanki and eleven papers from Amity Lucknow Campus. A committee was formed under supervision of Mr. Sachin Kumar, Dr. Ganga Ram Mishra, Mr. Rajinder Tiwari, Ms. Sumita Mishra and Ms. Pallavi Asthana to shortlist papers according to guidelines issued by IETE executive committee. The committee recommended five papers for presentation from Amity and fifteen papers from outside Amity.
4. The quiz contest was coordinated by Mr.K.K.Singh, Mr. Ashish Dixit and Mr. A.A.Maxtan. In the quiz competition, fifty three teams participated from various institutions namely from Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering & Management, Integral University, BBD University, BBDNIIT Lucknow, B.N. College of Engineering & Technology, Rameshwaram Institute of Technology & Management, Goel Institute of Technology & Management Lucknow, Ambalika Institute of Management & Technology, Dr. M.C. Saxena College of Engg. & Technology Lucknow, Global Institute of Technology, Lucknow, Sherwood College of Engineering Research & Technology, Barabanki and IETE Lucknow. The registration process was coordinated by a team of Mr. Deependra Pandey, Dr Geetika Srivastava, Dr. Ajita Pathak and Ms. Sugandha Agarwal.
5. The Symposia was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Shabbir Ahmed, Ex. Director BSNL Board in presence of esteemed guests Shri B.B. Lal, Ex- Chairman IETE, Lucknow Centre, Shri Satish Kumar, G.M. BSNL U.P.East Telecom Circle and Coordinator Symposia-2014, Shri Mahir Pant, Dy. Director General (TERM), DOT, Shri V.K. Jindal, Ex Secretary, IETE Lucknow Center, Members of Executive Committee of IETE Lucknow Centre, Prof S.T.H.Abidi, Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Prof. O.P.Singh, HOD E&CE Department, Faculty Members and students from participating institutions.

7. The Auditorium was packed with the student audience from Amity University Lucknow Campus and other engineering colleges including dignitaries, faculty members. students from other colleges participated enthusiastically by interacting with the judges and the participants. The Competition took place for around four hours in which each team presented their paper for 10 minutes followed by an interaction round in which the participants were asked questions by the judges as well as the audience.
8. In the paper presentation competition the first prize went to Ms. Varsha Uppadhyay & Ms. Sakshi from BBD University, second prize went to Mr. Abdullah Sagir from Rameshwaram Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow, third prize went to Mr. Harsh Jain & Mr. Eshan Kumar from Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering & Management and a consolation prize went to Ms. Tanya & Ms. Ayushi Agarwal from Amity School of Engineering & Technology,
9. In the quiz competition the first prize went to Mr. Saad Mohd Khan and Virendra Pratap Singh from AIMT Lucknow, second prize went to Mr. Deepak Kumar Verma & Mr. Abhinay Chauhan from Amity University Lucknow Campus, third prize went to Mr. Nishant Gupta and Mr. Rajnish Pandey from SRMGPC Lucknow and a consolation prize went to Mr. Shankar Shanti & Ms. Shivani Agarwal from BBD University Lucknow. The Symposia concluded with distribution of prizes to the winners and vote of thanks by Prof. O.P.Singh HOD E&CE Department
10. The complete event was planned and executed under guidance of Prof. O.P. Singh, Mr. Sachin Kumar Dr. Ganga Ram Mishra, Mr. Rajinder Tiwari. The students members of ISF Mr. Shah Waquas Ahmad, Mr. Shikhar Tiwari, Mr. Gaurav Singh Brijwal, Mr. Gaurav Singh Jethwani, Mr. Sarthak Gupta, Ms. Shameen Khan Ms. Saumya Srivastava, Ms. Anshika Mr. Harsh Rastogi, Mr. Mayank, Mr. Gourav Somvanshi, Mr. Vishwajeet Singh, Mr. Rishab Mishra, Mr. Ashutosh Kumar and other committee members worked hard for successful conduct of event under the dynamic leadership of Brig. Umesh K. Chopra, Director (AIIT) & Dy. Director, ASET and Coordinator IETE Students’ Forum & Prof. S.T.H. Abidi, Director, ASET.
11. The Symposia was covered by all leading print and electronic media of Lucknow including Doordarshan.
