Indian National Football Club overpowers Amity United Football Club in the Finals of 5th Lt Governor Invitational DDA Football Tournament 2009

The much awaited finals of the 5th Lt Governor Invitational DDA Football Tournament 2009 was played between the teams of Amity United Football Club (AUFC) and Indian National Football Club at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity United Football Club and Indian National Football Club along with the senior members/Directors and students from Amity witnessed the spectacular finals.

Yeaneyi Nkenechor and Ishau Yaro from INFC were announced as the " Man of the Match" and the " Best Defender" respectively.Danny Laldhwama from AUFC was announced as the " Best Midfielder"

Expressing his joy over the fact that both the teams playing the finals of DDA Football Tournament were of Amity, Dr. Ashok Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group said that it''s a matter of great pride for Amity that both AUFC and INFC managed to reach the finals after giving a smashing defeat to other renowned football teams including BSF Football Team , Jalandhar, Goa Football Association, Punjab Police Football Team, Indian Air Force, Delhi, Simla Youngs FC, Delhi. Sharing his aim to promote football in the entire country he said that there is so much young talent available in the country, all they need is a right platform to showcase their talent which will be provided by Amity.

About Amity United Football Club - It is located at the sprawling 120 acre Amity Education Valley at Manesar, Distt. Gurgaon. It is supported by the Amity Sports Foundation and is part of the vast Amity Education Group. To ensure the fitness and tactical dimensions of the players of AUFC team, hi-tech methods and equipments are employed. AUFC has been formed to raise football to great heights of fame and stardom so that India could eventually qualify for the World Cup.

In this regard AUFC, under the able guidance of Mr. Aseem Chauhan- President, Amity United Football Club and Indian National Football Club has been working diligently at the grass root level to promote football in rural areas and nurture young talent of the country. 10 Amity Football Development Centers have already been established in villages across Haryana and many more are coming up. With the significant contribution of AUFC, Haryana State has become Junior National Champions and currently Haryana State Team has moved to the sixth rank nationally from twenty-sixth ranking. Football camps for school children have been organized across Delhi , Noida and Gurgaon to promote the popularity of the sport. AUFC amongst its several games has also played a friendly match with National Football XI Team in 2006 and gave it a tough fight. The team has won more than a dozen tournaments and played with national level teams across India
