Amity Business School, Manesar organised its 8th Corporate Meet –“Parichay-2008 ” at The Palms, Town and Country Club, Gurgaon. The meet was organized in collaboration with Gurgaon Industrial Association (GIA), Gurgaon Management Association (GMA), NCR Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), Haryana State Productivity Council (HSPC) Gurgaon Chapter and IMT Industrial Association, Manesar.

The Corporate Meet is an annual event of Amity Business School, Manesar, where students get the opportunity to rub shoulders with eminent personalities from corporate and academia who share their seminal views and concerns on the contemporary practices followed in industry.

Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh- Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Production, Government of India ; Mr. Hari Sharma- Head (HRD), Reliance Energy Group; Ms. Pushpa Becktor- Director (Marketing and Entertainment),DLF Group ; Ashish Gupta- Business Head (India), Emerging Business and Handsets for HP and Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder, Amity Universeinnaugurated the meet.

Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh- Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Production, Government of India commended the stupendous success which Amity had attained in last 15 years. Bringing out the lamentable plight of higher education in Haryana, he said that 8 out of 18 districts in Haryana including Gurgaon have acute dearth of colleges or Universities providing higher education. He called forward the educationists to rectify the situation and recommended them to set up a “ Defence University” in Haryana. He expressed his hope that deliberation of the meet will yield results which would help India to grow shoulder to shoulder with not so endowed countries.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder, Amity Universe inspired the students to harness their talent adequately because they are ones who could turn India into a Super Power. He urged them to be hardworking, sincere and responsible in all their endeavors. He also called upon industry to work close with the student fraternity to ensue that they deliver right from the first day they enter industry.

Corporate bigwigs including Mr. Sandeep Kalra- Head Training, Metlife India; Ms. Ritu Kappal- Head (Operations),CEVA Logistics; Mr. Vivek Nanda,- Head ,Direct Sales, Sharp Business Systems; Mr.Hari Nair- AVP(HR), Sona Koyo; Mr. Nikunj Dhawan- VP(Technology)Fareportal presented their valuable views in a panel discussion on ““Managing New India: an Industry - Institute Confluence”.

During the day plethora of events such as exhibition, management games, market research and cultural programmes took place aiming to strengthen the industry – academia relations through experience sharing, networking and creating a synergy of interests.
