Amity Institute of Information Technology organises On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition

An ‘On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition’ was conducted by Amity Institute of Information Technology on the 15th February, 2011. The event was a part of the Amity Human Values Quarters umbrella. Writing talents from all the institutes of Amity University, Noida were invited forward to exhibit their English Language skils on the theme “Human Values”. A total of 41 students registered and 28 students were present for the event from different institutes like ASIAS, AIE, ASET, ASB, AIBHAS and AIIT.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Prof. HSP Singh, Head of Institute, AIIT and was convened by Mrs. Shubhra Gautam Sharma, Lecturer, AIIT and Essay Committee Member, Mrs. Neetu Gupta. In front of Faculty Core Committee(Human Values) members from AIIT, Mrs. Alpana Kakkar, Mrs. Ritu Punhani, a participant from AIE was randomly chosen by Prof. HSP Singh to draw the slip containing the topic for the essay out of the several suggested titles, through a lottery system. The topic drawn was – “Human Values – A Boon for the Institution”. The students were given an hour to express their views on the topic, with a word limit of 500 words.

The best three essays will be awarded and published in the annual souvenir of the AIIT.
