Delegation from China Law Society visits Amity University

 

A high level delegation from China Law Society (CLS), led by Mr Zhang Mingqi, Vice- President & Secretary-General, China Law Society, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus.

Mr Zhang Mingqi was accompanied by Li Xiaoming,  Secretary General & Deputy Chief Editor, CLS; Hu Zengyin,  Director General,  Research Institute of Political & Legal Affairs; Political & Legal Affairs Committee of the Communist Party of China; Xu Chuanxi, Beijing Law Society; Jiang Bin, Executive Vice President & Secretary General, Guangdong Law Society and Pan Xinyan, Director, International Department, CLS.

The objective of the visit was to discuss and exchange ideas for fostering future tie ups for Faculty members and Students Exchange Programmes and explore possibilities of fruitful participation in BRICS Seminars and Conferences etc.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr. DK Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law Schools said that Amity has maintained good relations with the BRICS nations and with their prominent educational institutions. He shared his expectation to collaborate with CLS and other legal institutions in China for joint inter and multi-disciplinary research work which will be aimed towards the benefit of society, and world at large.

Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh proposed for academic alliances and extended an invite to students from China to study at Amity for a semester or year. “The students will get an opportunity to understand learn about Indian Legal system.” She said. Dr. Shukla apprised that Amity believes in providing global exposure to its students and has designed a new curriculum, termed Education 4.0, as per global industry needs which will ensure that the students are job-ready by the time they graduate.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Zhang Mingqi, Vice- President & Secretary-General, China Law Society commended Amity for its academic and research achievements in such a short span of time. He informed that this is the first time that a delegation of CLS has visited an educational institution in India. He emphasized upon the importance of meaningful collaborations between educational institutions of both the countries for synergy of minds and nurturing empathy & understanding amongst the youth about different cultures through exchange programmes. Mr. Zhang proposed to send another delegation to Amity which will further deliberate upon possible areas for association.

During the visit, the delegation interacted with the Faculty members of Amity Law School wherein they discussed about faculty and student exchange programmes, teaching students and faculty members of both nations about trade laws and policies of respective countries, organizing joint seminars, workshops, participation of students in International Moot Court competitions etc.

Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Dr. Shefali Raizada, Jt Director, Amity Law School, Noida and Dr. Aditya Tomer, Jt Director, Amity Law School Noida along with other senior officials of Amity were present during the occasion.
