The program was inaugurated with traditional dance performances wherein the students of India and Afghanistan portrayed their culture through Sufi performances. However, it was the fusion of the music of Ustad Fateh Ali Khan’s sitar and Ruhallah Sami’s and Asad Sakhi’s ‘Rabab’ which completely stole the show and left the audience mesmerized.

Professor R.K Dargon, Advisor, Amity School of Communication (ASCO), on the occasion, shared the views of the Founder President of Amity, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan that we must all be respectful towards our cultures and traditions. He said that without our values and sanskars we cannot call ourselves as holistic human beings.

Mr. Sediqullah Sahar, Education Attache, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expressed his delight to witness such wonderful performances. He averred that as many Afghani students are studying in India we would like to look for new opportunities to upgrade India-Afghanistan relations. A couple of Afghani students studying in India also shared their views. Ms. Ameena, an exchange student from Afghanistan, said that India and Afghanistan have had good relations from the very beginning. She said that India has very quietly helped Afghanistan in several ways by building schools, hospitals, dams and helping them in any crisis.
