Shri Jaideep Saikia, Security Analyst and North-Eastern Region Journalist delivered lecture at Amity

Shri Jaideep Saikia, Security Analyst and North-Eastern Region Journalist delivered lecture during the Amity International Centre lecture series. This was AIE's eighty-second lecture in this series.

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation welcomed Shri Jaideep Saikia. Dr. Chauhan said that it is a proud moment for Amity that a personality like Shri Jaideep Saikia is with us.

Topic for Shri Jaideep Saikia lecture was "Security Scenario in the North-Eastern Region". Expressing his vast experience as a Journalist and security analyst, Mr. Saikia was of the opinion that the situation in North Eastern reagion is very serious. The Naga demands, Bodo problems, Cross border insurgency are the real security problems. Jaideep Saikia is a security analyst with over two dozen published and presented academic papers on security and strategy. He is also the author or editor of several books, including Bangladesh: Treading the Taliban Trail (2006); Terror Sans Frontiers: Islamist Militancy in North East India (2004); and many more. Born in 1966, Saikia had his education at the Rashtriya Indian Military College , Dehra Dun and at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. He has traveled widely in the United States, Europe and in South and Southeast Asia on academic assignments.
