Amity’s Paras, Class IV Employee’s Son Shine in Class –X CBSE Results

It was a moment of joy for Paras Singh Pundir, a student with Amity International School, Saket, who surpassed all odds to get 74.4% by scoring (75 in Hindi, 85 in English, 56 in Mathematics, 61 in Science & Technology and 95 in IT) in his class X CBSE examinations. His Father Mr. Kiran Singh is a class four employee, an electrician by profession, in Amity International School, Saket and has two other children to take care of. Paras mother a home maker is an illiterate but has always aspired that her children study and achieve great heights.

Paras beaming with joy said that although my father was hospitalized just few days before the board examination as he suffered from minor heart attack but my Principal and teachers were the driving force behind my passing with flying colours in boards. I couldn’t afford tuitions as I belong to a poor family therefore my school did everything for me be, it a fee concession or giving extra classes and continuously monitoring my performance. Of course, my teachers have been instrumental in my successful performance. He has chosen science in class XI and dreams to become an engineer.

Mr. Kiran Singh Pundir the proud father of Paras confessed that although Paras is very fond of playing cricket and loves to do rock climbing. But we always taught him to maintain balance between games and studies. He was very weak in studies from beginning but that did not deter his confidence and Amity supported us with full fee concession. He felt grateful to Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools for all moral and monetary support and teachers of Amity International School, Saket who taught him day and night and even in summer holidays. Like every father he equally was nervous before the exam result as it was child’s first big exam but he knew that his school has been really supportive and will help Paras reach the ladder of success” said Kiran Singh.

Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools lauded the efforts of Paras and feeling proud remarked, “Amity has always encouraged staff specially from not well to do families to enroll their kids with us and educate their children. Special initiatives have been taken in the form of fee concession, extra classes and of course emphasize on all round personality development of such children. Our aim is to make good citizens from all strata of society”, said Mrs. Chauhan. She wished him success and prosperity in all aspects of life.”

To double the celebrations, Paras Singh Pundir's sister Sonam Singh Pundir scored 84.2% in the exams. She is also student of Amity International School, Saket
