Community Outreach Program for IIC-MHRD Ranking

 Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized a community outreach programme under the leadership of Dr S Mohana Lakshmi (Principal & Director AIP-AUMP) in association with NGO Ek Kadam Vikas Ki Aur Welfare Society under IIC-driven activity. The community outreach programme was held at Berja Village, Government Hospital & Aganwadi, Morar, (Gwalior) dated 23 December 2022 (Friday). The theme of this program was Exposure and field visits for problem identification related to unbalanced diet and malnutrition in common people of the village. The coordinators and student volunteers also did a health survey based on common health-related problems.

Dr. Naveen Sharma initiated the program by greeting the dignitaries and briefing the villagers about the unbalanced diet and the causes and symptoms of malnutrition. He emphasizes the importance of handling malnutrition, especially among village people. He strongly appealed to the villagers to keep healthy by eating nutritious food. In this program some multivitamins and multimineral tablets per medical officers' instruction, fruits and biscuits were distributed by the faculty members and the students. As a part of the prevention measure, we urged the villagers to include fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.  

This program was successfully coordinated by Dr Naveen Sharma, Dr Jovita Kanoujia, Dr Pawan Kumar Gupta and faculty member Mr Arvind Singh Jadon. Twenty-five B Pharm students actively participated as a volunteer. This community program served to provide awareness about healthy lifestyle practices in the public domain.

Nigam and NGO Ek Kadam Vika Ki Aur Welfare Society, Agra for making efforts towards community services. Dr. S Mohana Lakshmi and faculty members appreciate the voluntary efforts and contributions to complete this social activity.
