Dr. Daya Shankar Mishra, State Minister Independent Charge, AYUSH, Food Security and Drug Administration, visits Amity University

Dr. Daya Shankar Mishra, State Minister Independent Charge, AYUSH, Food Security and Drug Administration, Shri Yogi Adityanath Cabinet 2.0 and Vice Chairman, Purvanchal Vikas Board, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida Campus.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Daya Shankar Mishra, State Minister Independent Charge, AYUSH, Food Security and Drug Administration, averred, “It is a matter of immense pleasure and honor for me to visit Amity University and meet the highly talented and skilled scientists and researchers who are doing a remarkable work in the field of research and innovation. Most institutions reach the position which Amity has attained today, in a period of 100 years or more of their establishment. Whereas Amity has attained a position amongst the topmost institutions of the world in a very short span of time, which is nothing less than a miracle. This has been possible only because of the visionary and iconic leader, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, who has created such a huge education and knowledge empire, which has made its mark in the whole world.”

Speaking about the significance of Ancient Indian Medicinal Science, Dr. Mishra, said, “Ayurveda has been derived from “Atharva Veda” which is more than 10,000 years old. Under the visionary leadership of our honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji, India is walking on the path of huge development in every sphere. Yoga, which was considered to be practiced only by the yogis and sages in the past, has now become immensely popular in the Western countries as well. Every chemical or medicine is obtained from plants, and we have known the importance of trees and plants since ancient times. It is heartening to see the research work which Amity has been conducting for the development of the country and the Government's Ministry of AYUSH, Food Safety and Drug Administration, will be glad to extend its support to Amity, at every step.”

Welcoming the guests, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “The aim of Amity University is to provide quality education to the students and imbibe human values in them so that they become good citizens, contribute to nation building and make their country proud. Amity University is carrying out extensive research work to promote Indian traditional system of medicine. In addition, Amity researchers and scientists are also working to increase crop production, thereby contributing to the Food and Agriculture Sector. It would be an honour for us if Dr. Mishra can provide us his valuable guidance so that we can work together with the Ministry of AYUSH, Food Safety and Drug Administration, for the development of our country.”

On this occasion, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science and Technology Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), presented the research and innovation initiatives, undertaken by the researchers and scientists of Amity and the visit concluded with the felicitation of the guests and a Vote of Thanks.
