Case Studies: A Powerful tool for Problem-Solving, conclude experts during “Renvoi-2022”, held at Amity

 

Amity Business School (ABS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, organized its Annual International Case Study Conference: Renvoi-2022 on 17th and 18th November, 2022 in hybrid mode. “Renvoi - 2022” aims to provide broad coverage and dissemination of foundational research, where participants get an opportunity to present and publish their original cases, exchange their views and network and connect with industry experts and fellow researchers. 

 

Delivering the Keynote Address during the Inaugural Session, Ms. Vicky Lester, CEO, The Case Centre, UK, averred, “Case Method is an effectual pedagogical tool for upskilling of students and industry readiness.  It is a highly effective and powerful means for addressing the challenges of real-life decision making. With the new and evolving formats, including digital technology, Case Studies have proved to be extremely helpful in achieving Strategic Business Outcomes by studying real-life cases and applying the strategy used in those cases to solve a given problem at hand.”

 

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “It is essential to develop an understanding of Case Studies as it helps in finding practical solutions to a problem. With the onset of the Pandemic, which had a huge impact across the world, case-based teaching has become extremely crucial as it provides insights for problem-solving through in-depth analysis of Case Studies and help the students to develop requisite skills and enhance their learning.”

 

Highlighting the Significance of Case Studies, Dr. Virginia Bodolica, Professor, Management, American University of Sharjah & Associate Editor, Emerging Markets Case Studies Journal, Emerald Publishing, asserted, “Writing Case Studies have a lot of benefits including more interactive and dynamic classes through real life examples, improved demonstrated ability, polyvalence along with a sense of accomplishment by mentoring students which is challenging, yet extremely fulfilling and satisfying. Researchers must select the topics of their research wisely and convert their PhD Course Assignments into articles. They must also collaborate, connect, network and communicate with their fellow researchers who can help them in their research work.”

 

Welcoming the Guests during the Inaugural Session, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS, Director Amity Business School (ABS), said, “The Annual Case-Study Conference, Renvoi, aims to provide

a platform to highlight real-life challenges and inter-subjective interpretations of people working in organized settings. Their reflections based on their experiences could range from profit-making ventures to

non-profit making entities including NGOs, Social Activists, Entrepreneurs and Self-Help groups working in the areas of Business Management, Education, Social issues, Technology and Healthcare.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the Inaugural Session, the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Vinamra Jain, Co-Chair, Renvoi 2022 and the Outcome Report of Renvoi 2021 and Introduction to Renvoi 2022 was presented by Dr.

Lakhwinder K. Dhillon, Co-Chair, Renvoi 2022.
