4,490 Graduands receive their Degrees and Diplomas on the Second Day of “18th Convocation-2022”, at Amity

 

A total of 4,490 Graduands received their degrees, diplomas and certificates, medals and trophies on the Second Day of “18th Convocation-2022”, at Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus. The Graduands were from different domains including Engineering & Technology, Allied Disciplines including Agriculture, Bio Sciences & Biotechnology, Science & Technology, Health & Allied Sciences, Natural Resources & Environmental Sciences and Rehabilitation Sciences.

 

On this occasion, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary Dept. of Defence (R&D) and Chairman DRDO and Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, were conferred upon Honorary Doctorate Degrees by Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University.

 

Extending his heartfelt gratitude to Amity and congratulating the young Graduands, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary Dept. of Defence (R&D) and Chairman DRDO, stated, “The vision and leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan is highly inspirational as it not only inspires young people, but also inspires world leaders as what he has achieved in the form of establishment of Amity is truly phenomenal, thereby contributing immensely to nation building. Today is a great day for young Graduands who have received their degrees from this prestigious institution, and it marks a very significant day in their careers. It is a great moment of pride for their parents and teachers, who have provided their constant support and blessings to them. The education and training that young minds receive at Amity, is of the highest standard, which makes them proud citizens of the country. DRDO, as an organization, is contributing the fulfilment of the Prime Minister’s vision of an “Aatm Nirbhar Bharat” as it is only when our country’s defence mechanism is strong, can the country become really “Aatm Nirbhar” or self-sufficient. Recently, 5 young scientists have been inducted into DRDO, below 35 years of age which is a testimony to the philosophy that the youth have the power and potential to change the country from a developing country to a developed one.” He called upon the students to work hard with utmost sincerity and dedication, to dream big and pursue their dreams with complete passion and obsession, as the youth will be the future leaders of tomorrow who will make their parents, institution and country proud.

 

Humbly accepting the Honorary Doctorate Degree from Amity University, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder, Chairman Apollo Hospitals Group, averred, “Amity is undoubtedly one of the best institutions in the world, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. Year after year, Amity is producing great leaders, scientists and entrepreneurs who have brought world recognition to the country. The students of Amity have great inner strength combined with the excellent education, skills and training provided by Amity, through which they can achieve the impossible. The Honorary Doctorate Degree bestowed upon me by Amity motivates me to do more and work harder.” He called upon the students to make the best of the opportunity, excel in their respective fields and make a significant impact to the society.

 

Expressing his extreme pleasure on this occasion, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group said, “Indian culture is highly admired by other countries as Indian children take very good care of their parents and treat them with utmost respect. At Amity, human values and “sanskars” are imbibed in each and every student so that they not only become the best professionals but also great human beings. Students of Amity have all the skills, knowledge, education and immense potential to become highly successful in their mission of serving the society. Today, India is ranked at the 40th position in the Global Innovation Index and it will definitely rank in the top 5 countries in the Global Innovation Index, in the next five years, led by young achievers and leaders, including Amitians.” He called upon the students to make a strong determination, remain focused towards their goal and have immense self-confidence so that they can become inspirational and influential leaders of tomorrow.

 

Highlighting the pioneering accomplishments of Amity University in the previous academic year, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, asserted, “Amity is Asia’s largest Education Group with 11 Indian campuses and 16 world-class global campuses, in different parts of the world. It is the undying and relentless spirit imbibed in the students, under the constant guidance of our Honourable Founder, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, which encourages Amitians to keep forging ahead. With over 1700 patents filed and more than 15 Technology Transfers, Amity is paving the way forward for research and scientific development of the country and Amity Alumni have been bringing laurels and recognition to the country by excelling in their respective fields.” She called upon the students to have high integrity, great human and moral values and undying thirst for knowledge, which will make their country proud of themselves.

 

During the second day of the Convocation, 13 “Best All-Round Achievement” Trophies and 239 silver, gold and bronze medals were awarded to the meritorious students. In addition, 68 students were bestowed with Shri Baljit Shastri Award for “Best in Human & Traditional Values” and 9 Corporate Awards were presented to the students at the Convocation ceremony, which was attended by thousands of students, their families, faculty members, HOIs, esteemed dignitaries and officials of Amity in large numbers.
