A High-level Delegation from Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis(IUPUI) visits Amity University

 A High-level delegation from Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis, (IUPUI) USA, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The delegation led by Dr. Hilary Kahn, Associate Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, comprised of eight members, including Dr. Mathew Palakal, Senior Executive Associate Dean/Professor, Informatics, Dr. Sarath Janga, Associate Professor, Bioinformatics, Dr. Davide Bolchini, Chair, Department of Human-Centered Computing, Dr. Khairi Redda, Assistant Professor, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Ms. Kate Dobson, Associate Director of Global Engagement, Indiana University Alumni Association, IUPUI, Ms. Zafeena Suresh, Director, Indiana University India Gateway, Ms. Minu Thomas, Program Coordinator, IU India Gateway. The purpose of the visit was to explore collaborative Academic Synergies between Amity University Program and IUPUI Programs, in various domains.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hilary Kahn, Associate Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, averred, “We are extremely delighted to visit Amity University, one of the best private Universities of India. Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and Amity University draw synergies of research and innovation and have the same mission of contributing to the scientific and economic development of the world. IUPUI would like to collaborate with Amity for the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explore other areas of academic and research collaboration. Together, both Universities can make the students global citizens who will become remarkable leaders of tomorrow.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the delegation visit, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “The Pandemic has brought the world closer through technology and collaboration has become imperative in all the fields, including academics. Through active discussion with IUPUI team on formulating and formalizing articulation pathway programs in the domains of Management, New Age Technologies, Applied Data Science, Psychology & Allied Sciences, Mechanical and Energy Engineering and Human Computer Interface (HCI), Amity University would like to collaborate with IUPUI, which will be highly beneficial for the students as it will provide them with bigger and better opportunities to enhance the growth of their career.”

 

Delivering the Welcome Address and making a Presentation on Amity Education Group with special emphasis on partnerships with IUPUI, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, said, “Amity University is extremely pleased to partner with IUPUI and through our Student Exchange Programmes, Joint Degree Programmes, International Lecture Series, Joint Campuses, e-Learning and Co-branded programs, the students of both Universities will get global learning and exposure, helping them in their holistic development.”

 

During the visit, an Articulation Agreement between Amity Institute of Biotechnology, AUUP and School of Science, IUPUI on a 2+2 model, was also signed, which will lead to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Informatics.

The visit concluded with the felicitation of the guests and their tour of the Amity University campus, including the high-tech labs, world-class Central Library and the Amity Innovation Incubator.
